Be Blessed! Believe!

Luke 1:45
Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be
accomplished!

Has the Lord promised you something, or called you to something which
seems impossible? Or hard to understand?

As the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts. --Isa 55:9

Do not be afraid
The Lord's promises are true
Be greatly encouraged, it is impossible for God to lie! --Heb 6:18
Not one of His promises will fail
Every promise will be fulfilled.

You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good
promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been
fulfilled; not one has failed.
--Josh 23:13

Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord
Answer the Lord as Mary answered
BELIEVE!

"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have
said."

"My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He
has been mindful of the humble state of His servant." --Lk 1:38, 46-48

In due time you will be lifted up
Because He cares for you. -- 1 Pe 5:6-7

Blessed is the one who believes what the Lord has said
It will be accomplished!

And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ,
after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make
you strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and ever.
Amen. --1 Pe 5:10-11

Luke 1:26-56
The Birth of Jesus Foretold

26In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in
Galilee, 27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a
descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28The angel went to
her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with
you."
29Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of
greeting this might be. 30But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid,
Mary, you have found favor with God. 31You will be with child and give
birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32He will be great
and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him
the throne of his father David, 33and he will reign over the house of
Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."

34"How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"

35The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the
power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born
will be called[c] the Son of God. 36Even Elizabeth your relative is going to
have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her
sixth month. 37For nothing is impossible with God."

38"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have
said." Then the angel left her.

Mary Visits Elizabeth

39At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of
Judea, 40where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth.
41When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb,
and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42In a loud voice she
exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you
will bear! 43But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should
come to me? 44As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears,
the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45Blessed is she who has
believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished
!"

Mary's Song

46And Mary said:
"My soul glorifies the Lord
47and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
49for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name.
50His mercy extends to those who fear him,
from generation to generation.
51He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
52He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
53He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.
54He has helped his servant Israel,
remembering to be merciful
55to Abraham and his descendants forever,
even as he said to our fathers."

56Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned
home.

Wise Men's Star

Christmas Eve

The soft light from a stable door
Lies on the midnight lands;
The wise men's star burns evermore,
Over all the desert sands.

Unto all peoples of the earth
A little Child brought light;
And never in the darkest place
Can it be utter night.

No flickering torch, no wavering fire,
But Light the Life of men;
Whatever clouds may veil the sky,
Never is night again.
... Lillian Cox

Matthew 2:9-10
When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

Habakkuk 3:16-19
I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay
crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for
the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us. Though the fig-

crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in
the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will *rejoice in the LORD, I

More Desired than Gold

Psalm 19:7-11
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward.

Psalm 33:18-22
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him,
on those whose hope is in His unfailing love,
to deliver them from death
and keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.
For our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name.
Let Your lovingkindness, O LORD, be upon us,
According as we have hoped in You.

1 Samuel 4:21-22
She named the boy Ichabod, saying, "The glory has departed from Israel"- because of the capture of the ark of God and the deaths of her father-in- law and her husband. 22 She said, "The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured."

Why was the ark of God captured? Why were these people carrying the ark defeated? Why did the glory depart?

Why didn't these people carrying the ark 'know' they would be defeated?
After all they were carrying the ark -- even their enemies believed the ark would protect them.

1 Samuel 4:5-9
5 When the ark of the LORD's covenant came into the camp, all Israel raised such a great shout that the ground shook. 6 Hearing the uproar, the Philistines asked, "What's all this shouting in the Hebrew camp?" When they learned that the ark of the LORD had come into the camp,
7 the Philistines were afraid. "A god has come into the camp," they said. "We're in trouble! Nothing like this has happened before. 8 Woe to us! Who will deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? They are the gods who struck the Egyptians with all kinds of plagues in the desert. 9 Be strong, Philistines! Be men, or you will be subject to the Hebrews, as they have been to you. Be men, and fight!"

***

The other scripture that the Lord recently showed me together with the above is nehemiah 13.

Eliashib the priest allowed Tobiah to have a room in the temple. The first thing Nehemiah did after returnung to find this is to throw Tobiah out and cleanse the rooms.

The result of having Tobiah in the temple? Tithes no longer came in and things fell apart. Mixture occurred.

Eliashib compromised the law -- he probably had 'good reasons' -- Tobiah was related and probably wealthy ....

Eliashib feared man more than he feared God!

This is an example of what happens when the enemy is not thrown out of the temple -- unfortunately only the priest -- the one in charge has the ability to make decisions like this ....

Also interesting is that Nehemiah pulled out the hair of the ones who brought mixture -- a thought -- doesnt hair represent glory in the bible???

:)

From Streams In The Desert By Mrs.
Charles E Cowman
"There shall be a performance" (Luke 1:45).

"My words shall be fulfilled in their season" (their fixed appointed time)
(Greek, Luke 1:20).

There shall be a performance of those things
That loving heart hath waited long to see;
Those words shall be fulfilled to which she clings,
Because her God hath promised faithfully;
And, knowing Him, she ne'er can doubt His Word;
"He speaks and it is done." The mighty Lord!
There shall be a performance of those things,
O burdened heart, rest ever in His care;
In quietness beneath His shadowing wings
Await the answer to thy longing prayer.
When thou hast "cast thy care," the heart then sings,

There shall be a performance of those things.

There shall be a performance of those things,
O tired heart, believe and wait and pray;
At eventide the peaceful vesper rings,
Though cloud and rain and storm have filled the day.

Faith pierces through the mist of doubt that bars
The coming night sometimes, and finds the stars.

There shall be a performance of those things,
O trusting heart, the Lord to thee hath told;
Let Faith and Hope arise, and plume their wings,
And soar towards the sunrise clouds of gold;
The portals of the rosy dawn swing wide,
Revealing joys the darkening night did hide.
--Bessie Porter

Matthew Henry says: "We must depend upon the performance of the
promise, when all the ways leading up to it are shut up.

'For all the promises of God in him are yea (yes), and in him Amen (so be
it), unto the glory of God by us.' (2 Cor. 1:20).

Psalm 27:4-7, 13-14
One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek:
... That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
... To behold the beauty of the LORD
... And to meditate in His temple.
For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle;
... In the secret place of His tent He will hide me;
... He will lift me up on a rock.
And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me,
... And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy;
... I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice,
... And be gracious to me and answer me.

I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the
... goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD;
... Be strong and let your heart take courage;
... Yes, wait for the LORD.

Yokes destroyed and captives set free! --Isa 10:27; Isa 61:1-3

"Sing for joy and be glad, O daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming
and I will dwell in your midst," declares the LORD. --Zech 2:10

Behold the beauty

I AM

A sweet, sweet scent flowing down
Be anointed with the oil of joy.

Isa 61:1-3 NASB
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed
me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners;
To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD and the day of vengeance of
our God; To comfort all who mourn, to grant those who mourn in Zion,
Giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of
mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will
be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may
be glorified.

Isa 61:10-11 MSG
I will sing for joy in GOD, explode in praise from deep in my soul! He
dressed me up in a suit of salvation, he outfitted me in a robe of
righteousness, As a bridegroom who puts on a tuxedo and a bride a
jeweled tiara. For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers, and as a
garden cascades with blossoms, So the Master, GOD, brings
righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the
nations.

Choose Hope

Galatians 5:5
For we through the Spirit, by faith, are {patiently, expectantly, diligently}
waiting for the hope of righteousness.

When the unthinkable happens, when sorrows fill our eyes with tears,
when darkness seems to swallow and there is no hint of even a glimmer
of light in the night, it may seem impossible to believe that anything
could overcome the pain.

CHOOSE by faith thru the Holy Spirit to wait
To wait patiently, expectantly, diligently, eagerly
For the hope of righteousness.

The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and His ears are open to

Remember Joseph
You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good ... to save many
people alive. --Gen 50:20

The darkest moments in our lives are not determined by our
circumstances or by evil done to us, but by our response thru the grace
and the power of God!

So today if all seems dark
And you see nothing but night laid out before you
Choose to wait for hope
Refuse to despair
Believe by faith thru the Holy Spirit
For the shining stars to appear
Believe that the eye of the Father sees the shining stars
Believe that the eye of the Father sees farther than your own eyes
Choose to wait for hope
Choose to look upon the darkness where there appear to be no stars
Choose to stand firm amid the night and believe
To the eye of the Father the night shines like day --Ps 139:11-12
He sees and reveals every shining star by His hand at the appointed time
The Father knows each star and calls them by name.

Stand firm amid the night
Choose to wait for hope
ONLY BELIEVE
Holding fast the word of life
You will shine. --Phil 2:12-18.

Psalm 33:18-22
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him,
on those whose hope is in His unfailing love,
to deliver them from death
and keep them alive in famine.

For our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name.

Psalm 23 -- Portrait of the Good Shepherd

There are nine characteristics of Yahweh hinted at in Psalm 23. These characteristics wonderfully describe Jesus, our good shepherd (Jesus in Hebrew means "Yahweh is our salvation"), and paint a beautiful portrait of our Good Shepherd.

1. My Shepherd—Yahweh Roeh.
Jesus loves and cares for me. He feeds and nourishes His sheep. He is totally committed to His flock.

"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep". --Jn 10:14-25

_____________________________________________________________________

2. My Provider—Yahweh Yireh.
Jesus provides all I need day by day—stability, strength, encouragement. Even in challenging times, He knows how best to provide for me.

_____________________________________________________________________

3. My Peace—Yahweh Shalom.
Jesus, the Prince of Peace, speaks words of comfort and hope into my turmoil. Enabling me to find rest beside quiet waters, inspite of my circumstances.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. --Mt. 11:28-30

_____________________________________________________________________

4. My Restorer—Yahweh Ropheca.
Jesus is going deep inside me and bringing refreshment and renewing to my soul day by day through the Holy Spirit. His "streams of living water" flow through me even in a crisis.

On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. --Jn 7:37-39

_____________________________________________________________________

5. My Righteousness—Yahweh Tzidkenu.
Jesus made the Way, blazed the very path of righteousness on which I tread. He is the author and perfecter of my faith. He is faithful to finish what He has started.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. --Heb 12:2-3

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. --1 Thess 5:23-24

_____________________________________________________________________

6. My Companion—Yahweh Sham-mah.
Jesus is with me in everything I face. I may walk through a valley of deep darkness (the name of an actual valley in Israel, by the way), but I will not be anxious because the shepherd is facing it with me.

You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. --Ps 139:5-10

The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. --Deut 31:8

7. My Victor—Yahweh Nissi.
In the midst of my trial, Jesus promises to be my stronghold and my sustainer. His presence protects me when Satan's fiery darts of fear and doubt come my way.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. --Eph 6:16 ... we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. --Rom 8:37

8. My Sanctifier—Yahweh Mkaddeshchem.
He has anointed me with the oil of His Holy Spirit. His power helps me to walk the path as He purifies me. Increasingly, His holiness is reflected in my life.

My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. --Jn 17:15-19

9. Most High—Yahweh Elyon.
He is God, and He deserves all my praise in whatever situation I find myself. The shepherd has only goodness and mercy for me.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. --Phil 4:4-7

Psalm 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters,

3 He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
