Isaiah 11:1-4
A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse;
from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of power,
the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD -
and he will delight in the fear of the LORD.
He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
or decide by what he hears with his ears;
but with righteousness he will judge the needy, ,
with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
.
1 Samuel 14:27-29
But Jonathan had not heard when his father put the people under oath; therefore, he put out the end of the staff that was in his hand and dipped it in the honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth, and his eyes brightened. Then one of the people said, "Your father strictly put the people under oath, saying, 'Cursed be the man who eats food today.'" And the people were weary. Then Jonathan said, "My father has troubled the land. See now, how my eyes have brightened because I tasted a little of this honey".
.

The Authority of the truth of the word when spoken out or sung out is powerful, it has an effect on every thing when we understand the power of that word as we release it.

The Rod, the King's scepter, all authority
Take you rod, dip it in the pure, golden oil, the honey of His Word. Put this IN your mouth -- your eyes will be brightened -- eat it -- speak it -- and ALL will see.
.
Psalm 2:6
"But as for Me, I have installed My King
Upon Zion, My holy mountain."

.
Psalm 45:6
Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
.
Psalm 40:1-3
I waited patiently for the LORD;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the LORD.
.
Psalm 119:103
How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

.
Jeremiah 15:16
Your words were found and I ate them,
And Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name,
O LORD God of hosts.

Honey from the Rock

Heather Butler

Come stand in the cleft of the rock,

There’s more than you can see,

There is honey pouring from the rock

Pouring over you.

My soothing balm covers over you,

A mantle so rich and so rare,

Reviving the weary soul healing every pain

Live life again.

In the bosom of the rock,

Is the one who is beautiful who sets you free

And He pours out his fragrance for all the world to see,

And He pours it out upon you and says be ye released

Go into the world with my fragrance and touch them with healing

Bring the fragrance of who I am to them

Feed the hungry from the word I have given

There is honey in the pages and it is written

That honey pours from the rock and that is my provision
To you who carry it into the nations

My healing balm,

Bringing calm, bringing my love.

That Still small voice.

Honey is a pure, rich,  perfect food, it doesn't get stale. It lasts, just like God's word! Eat it, take it in, walk in it and see, truth revealed.

John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 17:17
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

Rock Eternal standing firm
Enduring the winds of time
Strong tower, shelter above all others
Sweet refuge, Rock that is higher than I
Lord hear my cry
Under the shadow of Your wings let me trust and abide
Kept as the apple of Your eye
Nourished with honey from the Rock, satisfied
Sweet golden oil flowing from the flinty crag
Pure, rich, fresh, the perfect food, the living word
Rock Eternal standing firm
Enduring the winds of time
Flowing from the Rock
Sweet, pure, golden honey
Honey from the Rock, taste and SEE.

Scripture:

Psalm 61:1-4
Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.
From the ends of the earth I call to you,
       I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.
I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.

Psalm 27:5
For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a Rock.

 Deuteronomy 32:10-13
In a desert land he found him,
in a barren and howling waste.
       He shielded him and cared for him;
he guarded him as the apple of his eye,
Like an eagle that stirs up its nest
       and hovers over its young,
that spreads its wings to catch them
and carries them on its pinions.
The LORD alone led him;
no foreign god was with him.
He made him ride on the heights of the land
and fed him with the fruit of the fields.
He nourished him with honey from the rock,
and with oil from the flinty crag ...

1 Peter 1:22-25
Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For,
   "All men are like grass,
      and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of the Lord stands forever."

Want to be set on High?

...

Hebrews 4:12-13
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

James 4:6-10
"GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE"
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God {be deeply penitent} and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail {over your disloyalty}. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom {for your sins}. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

All the proud and lofty will be opposed
Brought low, laid bare
Laid bare at Your rebuke, O LORD
Destroyed at the blast of breath from your nostrils
Swept away in Your strong wind
Nothing will be hidden

Fall facedown before Him
Before Him who is High and Holy
Come near, trembling at His Word
Fall humbly at His feet
Before the mercy seat
Before the throne of grace
Bow low before him, on your face
Hearts lowly in spirit
Bruised with sorrow for sin, contrite
Judged by the sword of His word
A sacrifice He will not despise
A heart thoroughly contrite
This is the one He esteems
The one who will be lifted up to safety
Set on high, atop His mountain holy
Feet firmly placed upon His Rock
Lifted up and set on high
The heart contrite and lowly

Scripture:

2 Peter 3:10-14

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

Zephaniah 2:3
Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land,
you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
perhaps you will be sheltered
on the day of the LORD's anger.

Ezekiel 13:14
I will tear down the wall you have covered with whitewash and will level it to the ground so that its foundation will be laid bare. When it falls, you will be destroyed in it; and you will know that I am the LORD.

Psalm 18:15
The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of breath from your nostrils.

Isaiah 57:13-15
When you cry out for help,
let your collection of idols save you!
The wind will carry all of them off,
a mere breath will blow them away.
But the man who makes me his refuge
will inherit the land
and possess my holy mountain.
And it will be said: {And the word of One shall go forth}
"Build up, build up, prepare the road!
Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people."
For this is what the high and lofty One says—
he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
I live in a high and holy place,
but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly
and to revive the heart of the contrite {thoroughly penitent [bruised with sorrow for sin]}.

Isaiah 66:2
"Has not my hand made all these things,
and so they came into being?"
declares the LORD.
"This is the one I esteem:
he who is humble and contrite in spirit,
and trembles at my word."

Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Psalm 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart,
O God, you will not despise.

Job 5:11
... The lowly he sets on high, and those who mourn are lifted to safety ...

Psalm 40:1-4
I waited patiently for the LORD;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.
Blessed is the man
who makes the LORD his trust,
who does not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to false gods.

Remember His sacrifice
Remember the price
Come and humbly bow
Bow before His throne
Don't delay
Come now

Keep Me At Jesus' Feet
Karen Holland 12-20-06
.
O LORD, what gift do I have to bring?
To lay before my King?
I have no gifts of gold, incense or myrrh to bring
No gifts fit for my King.
.
I have no alabaster jar with fragrance sweet
No perfume with which to kiss and anoint at Jesus's feet.
.
O LORD, what gift do I have to bring?
To lay before my King?
.
What gift does He desire?
What gift does He esteem?
A living sacrifice pure and holy
My humble heart contrite and lowly
This honors Christ my King
This He esteems above everything.
.
O LORD if I should ever gain a crown
Keep me humble before Your nail-pierced feet
At the foot of Your cross let me gladly lay down my crown
Before Your nail-pierced feet
I'll lay it all down.

Romans 12:1-3
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

Psalm 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Revelation 4:10-11
The twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
"You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being."

Almond Tree
Karen Holland ... 12-16-06
.
Almond tree, almond tree
First to bud first to see
Aaron's rod, Root of Jesse
The watching tree
.
First to blossom in springtime
As though it did not sleep
I AM ready to perform my word
The great I AM watching to see
The first, the last,
Who is and was
Who is to come, the Almighty
.
Almond tree, almond tree
First to bud first to see
The watching tree.
.

.
Jeremiah 1:11-12
The word of the LORD came to me: "What do you see, Jeremiah?"
"I see the branch of an almond tree," I replied.
The LORD said to me, "You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled."
.
Numbers 17:8
Now on the next day Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi had sprouted and put forth buds and produced blossoms, and it bore ripe almonds.
.
Isaiah 11:1-2, 10 (NKJV)
There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse,
And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
{and from his roots a bud shall blossom (NAB)}
The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse,
Who shall stand as a banner to the people;
For the Gentiles shall seek Him,
And His resting place shall be glorious.

The Golden Lampstand

Exodus 25:31-40 "Make a lampstand of pure gold and hammer it out, base and shaft; its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms shall be of one piece with it. 32 Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other. 33 Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand. 34 And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms. 35 One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair—six branches in all. 36 The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.

37 "Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it. 38 Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold. 39 A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories. 40 See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.

Psalm 2:6
"But as for Me, I have installed My King
Upon Zion, My holy mountain."

Psalm 45:6
Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

Flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms on the lampstand --
buds open to blossoms
blossoms form cups
cups hold the fragrant oil
oil to keep the flame alive
burning bright
a beautiful sight
burn with all your might ...

Arise my dove, my beautiful one
Lift up your head towards the Son
Soak in His light, drink in His love
Let me hear your voice my sweet sweet dove
Your bud will blossom with wonderful perfume
The scent of life, heavenly fragrance from above
Let the oil flow, let your light burn bright
A beautiful sight, burn with all your might

Arise my dove, my beautiful one
Lift up your head towards the Son
Let the King of Glory come in
Come in thru the gates of praise
Up from the clefts, leaning on the rock, my dove
Show me your face, my beautiful one
Let me hear your voice my sweet sweet dove.

Song 2:10-14
My lover spoke and said to me,
"Arise, my darling,
my beautiful one, and come with me.
See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
is heard in our land.
The fig tree forms its early fruit;
the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come, my darling;
my beautiful one, come with me."
My dove in the clefts of the rock,
in the hiding places on the mountainside,
show me your face,
let me hear your voice;
for your voice is sweet,
and your face is lovely.

Psalm 24:7-10
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty,
The LORD mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah

Small Straws In A Soft Wind by Marsha Burns
December 14, 2006: Remember your former days when the zeal of the Lord enflamed your heart? Refuse to allow the enemy to cause you to walk away from your first Love and your desire to fulfill your calling, for the devil is doing his work to steal your commitment to Me. Hold fast! Stir the coals and feed the flame. Be renewed in your strength to run the spiritual race, reach the goal, and win the Prize. Shake yourself awake and be diligent to keep your love for Me alive, says the Lord.

Hebrews 10:23-25
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Revelation 3:14-19
"And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’ ––and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked––I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent."

Come, eat, eat the bread of life the word of God --
That your strength may be renewed to run the spiritual race, reach the goal and win the prize.

Come, eat, eat the bread of life the word of God --
That you may be awake with your eyes open and
your love for me kept strong and alive thru the watches of the night.

Who is the 'Faithful and True' ?

Revelation 19:11-16
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The cure for spiritual blindness -- eye salve -- what is this?

The Greek word for "eye salve" is the word kollourion, transliterated "kollourion" which is the name of a then - popular type of eye salve that was made in Laodicea around the time that the Book of Revelation was written. The interesting thing about this eye salve is that it came in lumps shaped like small loaves of bread. In fact, the name is a diminutive form of the Greek word for a loaf of bread. So Jesus can be understood to be telling us to rub something into our eyes that is in some way related to bread. Now what could that thing be?

Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.' "

Psalm 34:8
O taste and see that the LORD is good;

Psalm 119:103

How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

More on 'tasting', 'testing' and 'seeing'!

Ezekiel 3:1-3
Then He said to me, "Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel." So I opened my mouth, and He fed me this scroll. He said to me, "Son of man, feed your stomach and fill your body with this scroll which I am giving you " Then I ate it, and it was sweet as honey in my mouth.

Psalm 34:8
O taste and see that the LORD is good.

Taste: Hebrew word - ta'am (tah-ahm): to taste, to eat; to discern, to perceive; to evaluate. This verb refers to the testing of good by means of the sense of taste. From the primary sense of physical tasting, ta'am developed into the idea of evaluating by the sampling of things other than food. Ta'am as a noun came to refer to "discernment," that is, the capacity to choose and delight in good things.

Psalm 119:16
I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

Jeremiah 15:16
Your words were found and I ate them,
And Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart;
For I have been called by Your name,
O LORD God of hosts.

"EAT THIS SCROLL"
From:
http://www.metadesignworks.com/pages/eatscrol.html

Interpretation: Liquid revelation, multi dimensional, crossing the lines of time and space, glowing with radiant glory, filled with everlasting to everlasting. Elements of seeming contradiction, yet coexisting in continuing balance. By human eye it is as if chaos, but by the Spirit it is of divine order. The living word of God. The burning consuming Word of God, reaching out to consume the one that desires to partake. The water (The Holy Spirit represented by the blue and green ribbons) of the deep moves gently around and over the written word (- logos: a transmission of thought, communication, a word of explanation, divine revelation, instruction, an oracle, divine promise, divine declaration. Jesus is the living logos, the Bible is the written logos, and the Holy Spirit utters the spoken logos) that begins to have an effect upon the scroll. The word becomes alive and begins to leaps off the page as understanding is revealed -REVELATION. As the observer eats of the scroll he becomes the partaker infused with the divine nature of the living word. Electric and alive, full of power, and radiant glory...eat this scroll and taste and see that the Lord is truly good.

Psalm 98:4    Shout for joy to the LORD , all the earth burst into jubilant song with music.

Psalm 16:11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

If we can detect God's presence in our lives there is a joy that springs up. When we detect His presence nothing can stop that joy - not even circumstances. His presence & joy are eternal!

1 Peter 1:8    Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and you rejoice with a glorioius (unspeakable) inexpressible joy.

Glorious Unspeakable Joy
Karen Holland ... 1-12-2006

The Joy of the Lord
Joy unspeakable, no tongue can tell
The Joy of the Lord
Overflowing with His glory
Joy eternal bursting forth from His never ending well
Anointed with His oil of joy
Bathed in His fragrance
Soaked in His presence
His joy made complete
A new song in my mouth
A song from deep within my soul
Jubilant song bursting forth
A song that can not be stopped
The Joy of the Lord
My  strength.

Psalm 45:7-8    You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces adorned with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad.

John 15:9-11    As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

Nehemiah 8:10    The JOY of the LORD is our strength!!!

Tested faith contains great glory. You are tried and true; the temple of his dwelling. Waters have cleansed the treasure in the clay. Creation awaits the day. Time speaks of an end and the dawn of a better day that never ends. Shine while the earth shakes. Sing the praise of life eternal in Jesus Christ. Christ coming. Love reigns. Dry bones live. Dreams and visions increase. Pride falls. Sinners repent. Shame is not in your name. The dove descends. God's voice shakes the earth. We worship. Rise and be healed. Such as I have, I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk. We praise, run, and leap with joy. Be strengthened by his might. The world sees your witness. Pray and live in the Holy Spirit. Walk in his will. Leap with his joy. Praise with his power. Love with his heart.

Be prepared for the race, refreshed, invigorated
Let your head be anointed with oil
Let your cup overflow
Heavenly fellowship
Heavenly sustenance.

Run with perseverance the race marked out by His hand
Run to finish the race
Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Always be clothed in white
Always anoint your head with oil.

Scriptures:

Psalm 23:5

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Psalm 23:5 It is difficult for those living in a temperate climate to appreciate, but it was customary in hot climates to anoint the body with oil to protect it from excessive perspiration. When mixed with perfume, the oil imparted a delightfully refreshing and invigorating sensation. Athletes anointed their bodies as a matter of course before running a race. As the body, therefore, anointed with oil was refreshed, invigorated, and better fitted for action, so the Lord would anoint His "sheep" with the Holy Spirit, Whom oil symbolizes, to fit them to engage more freely in His service and run in the way He directs--in heavenly fellowship with Him.

1 Corinthians 9:24
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Acts 20:24
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.

Ecclesiastes 9:8
Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil.
2 Timothy 2:19-21
Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."
In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

Whoever purifies himself
Will be an instrument set apart
Useful to the Master
Useful for honorable and noble purposes,
Consecrated and profitable to the Master,
Fit and ready for any good work.

Be washed thru the word
That you may be without stain or wrinkle
Holy and blameless, radiant
A useful instrument in the Master's hands.

A hammer is useless until placed in the carpenter's hand.

Useless Hammer
Words and music: Kevin Percival © 1995 Kevin Percival

I am nothing more than a useless hammer
Until placed in the carpenter's hand
I am nothing more than a wand'ring pilgrim
All alone in a far-away land
Im am nothing more than a very small child
Not yet grown up into a man
I am nothing more than a useless hammer
Until placed in the carpenter's hand

Use me Lord
This will always be my humble plea
Give me faith
Built upon the cross of Calvary

Use me Lord
I will be your servant to the end
Give me strength
Like a tempered steel, I will not bend

A hammer lays quiet and lifeless and still
It can't on its own do a thing
But placed in the hands of the one with the skill
Its pounding will make Heavens ring

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands. Jeremiah 23:25-29
"I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, 'I had a dream! I had a dream!' How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds? They think the dreams they tell one another will make my people forget my name, just as their fathers forgot my name through Baal worship. Let the prophet who has a dream tell his dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?" declares the LORD. "Is not my word like fire," declares the LORD, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?

Let the fire of His word burn in your heart.

Let the stone, the rock hardness of your heart be shattered by His hammer. Let Him give you a new heart, a new Spirit, the Spirit of the living God.

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Ezekiel 36:26
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

Let the Spirit of the living God write His word upon your heart. Be a letter from Christ. Keep His word hidden deep within your heart.

2 Corinthians 3:3

You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

Psalm 119:11
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Revelation 1:3
Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Deuteronomy 4:24
For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

Psalm 23

If you were to convince me that that there is no Father in Heaven and Jesus never went to the cross for me, I think I would lose my mind. I might even lose my life. And I am sure I would lose my soul! I would be a sheep without a shepherd and my 23rd un-Psalm might sound something like this:

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want:
I am a sheep without a shepherd. I do not know whom to follow —
And I am utterly in want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me besides still waters
I am empty. Nothing satisfies. Nothing refreshes me. I find no real fulfillment. No lasting security. No real rest.

He restores my soul
I feel like a lost soul — totally, irretrievably depleted.

Even when I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me...
I don’t believe anyone walks with me in the darkest valley! And contemplation of my own mortality holds me “all my lifetime in bondage under fear of death” — for in that final hour I will be profoundly alone!

Your rod and your staff they comfort me
I feel misguided and I find no authentic comfort in anything. None.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies
I feel unwelcome in my world, always hungry for something — and totally overwhelmed by a thousand threatening forces.

You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over.
My blistered head aches, with no oil of relief. My joy cup is dry all the way to the bottom. Bone dry.

Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life
I have given up hoping for any really quality to my life. In fact, genuine goodness and mercy have eluded me all of my days — and I don’t really expect things to change.

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Oh how I ache to belong somewhere. But I don’t really feel at home anywhere.... And I think I will feel lonely and homeless forever.

Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his ; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Thank You Lord that You are our shepherd, that we are the sheep of Your pasture under Your tender care.
