1. Introductions: |
-
Now that I know how to create a new image form the Adobe
Photoshop7.0 software and Adobe ImageReady 7.0 software.
This essay aims to:
the meaning of your chosen theme and how it relates to the reading;
why you have represented the theme the way you have
(e.g. use of line, type, colour, shape, etc);
the tasks you performed to complete the assignment;
how long the assingment took;
any diffeculties you encountered;
what you learned from the assingment; and
whether you think the assingment was a useful learning exercise or not.

2. The mean of the digital word |
-
Computers are digital machines, which means they communicate using
streams of electronic on and off signals. For practical purposes,
these on and off signals ore often represented by ones and zeroes.
The number zero represents an off signal. Ones and zeroes are called
binary digits or bits for short (Steven, 2003, p.1-9).
|
-
A bit has no color, size, or weight, and it can travel at the
speed of light. It is the smallest atomic element in the DNA
of information. It is a state of being: on or off, true or false,
up or down, in or out, black or white. For practical purposes
we consider a bit to be 1 or a 0. The meaning of the 1 or the 0 is
a separate matter. In the early days of computing, a string of
bits most commonly represented numerical information
(Negroponte, 1996, p.3).
|
-
Try counting, but skip all the numbers that have anything other
than a 1 and a 0 in them. You end up with the following: 1, 10,
11, 100, 101, 110, 111, etc. those are the respective binary
representations for the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, etc
(Negroponte, 1996, p.3).
|
2.1. How it relates |
-
As we move from analog to digital, wired to wireless, and fixed to
mobile, success in the consumer electronics industry centers on the
concept of the "Connected Home." Electronics manufacturers must
deliver easy, seamless access to content demanded by consumers
through technologies that can speak to one another within the home
and in the outside world. Key technologies, such as broad-band,
wireless connectivity, and digital television, are the main players
(Jens, 2003, p.38).
|
-
Optical storage, combined with magnetic storage, will become central
to the consumer's digital lifestyles. Personal video recorders, home
media servers, and DVD recorders satisfy the demand for customizing
and archiving content (Jens, 2003, p.38).
|
-
Today, children's comments about the creatures that exist on simulation
games, in talk about travel via circulating disks or over modems, in
talk of viruses and networks, movement is resurfacing as a criterion
for aliveness. Children widely assume that the creatures on Sim games
have a desire to move out of the system into a wider digital world
(Turkle, 1996 ).
|
3. Represented the digital word (the why have); |
3-1 GIF(Graphics Interchange Format). |
-
The digital word animation stored several images in a single file and
display them in rapid succession to create the illusion of motion.
These animated GIFs can be embedded in a Web page with the
tag just like a regular image. Browsers that recognize the digital
word format will display the sequence of images stored in the file,
creating an animation effect (Steven, 2003, p. 4-27).
|
-
TBuilding an animated GIF involves specifying the sequence of images
that make up the animation and setting a number of options such as
frame delays, looping, colour palettes, transparency and disposal
methods, regardless of which tool you are using to create an animated
GIF, the options are essentially the same (Steven, 2003, p.4-28).
|
3-2. Colour |
-
Like static GIF files, animated GIFs can display up to 256 colours
simultaneously. An animated GIF can have one global colour palette
or a different colour palette for each frame. Multiple palettes
should be avoided because they dramatically increase file size and
they cause the animation to flicker (Steven, 2003, p. 4-28).
|
3-3. Layers |
-
Creating an animated GIF usually involves working with layers.
Layers area mechanism for dividing an image into distinct levels.
Think if layers as transparent sheet of plastic stacked one on top
of the other. Where there is no image on a layer, you can see through
to the layers below. The very bottom layer is called the background.
When the digital word animation creates a new image it consists of
just a background layer. You can add more layers to the image,
organizing the project work into distinct levels. Changing the
contents of one layer does not disturb the others (Steven, 2003, p. 4-29).
|
3-4. Shapes |
-
Using images that I have created myself from scratch into the
Photoshop7.0 software and photos form the digital camera.
|
3-5. Creating animated GIFs with ImageReady |
-
- creating a new animation
- defining the background layer.
- adding a layer
- adding frames
- specifying frame delays
- specifying looping
- setting the frame disposal method
- viewing the animation
- optimizing and saving an animation
- showing and hiding layers
- selecting frames
- deleting frames
- changing the position of frames
- copying and pasting frames

4. How long the assignment took. |
-
The assignment 1 took to finish, but it seems to take around 2 weeks,
trough the Adobe Photoshop7.0 software, Adobe ImageReady 7.0 software
and Macromedia Fireworks.
|
5. Difficulties you encountered |
5-1. Adobe Photoshop7.0 software & ImageReady 7.0 software |
-
The Photoshop & ImageReady software already took lesson at week 5 the basic of create theory and images as well as some of the tools.
That software has so many functions; it has to struggle with confusing
for the assignment1.Now that I know what an animated GIF is create
one to give me a feel for the basic steps.
|
5-2. FireWorks MX |
-
In this part creating animation for the web, I learned at week 5 the
basics of animation theory and techniques as well as some of the
tools, how can we used to create animations in FireWorks MX. It has
to confusing during the assignment1.
|
6. What you learned |
-
This assignment1 appear to be significantly larger than others
assignment, but that is because it heavily illustrated and contains
duplicate sets of instructions for Adobe Photoshop users and
Macromedia Fireworks users. Through that program are really
interesting for creating animated GIFs with ImageReady(creating animation)
and Creating animated GIFs with Fire works.
|
7. Whether you think the assignment was a useful learning exercise or not. |
-
The descriptive operation of the Adobe Photoshop7.0 software, Adobe
ImageReady 7.0 software and Macromedia Fireworks are very useful for
the assignment 1and many things.
|
8. Conclusion |
-
This assay has discussed the digital word animation. The mean of the
digital word and how it relates, Represented the digital word
animation, how long the assignment took. Difficulties you encountered
and whether you think the assignment was a useful learning exercise
or not.
