CSI To Step Up Production
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - The cast and crew of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" have been working especially hard this month.
CBS' top drama has stepped up its shooting schedule to "get more episodes done to avoid having to put on repeats," co-star Gary Dourdan, who plays Warrick Brown, tells syndicated columnists Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith. As a result, shooting days have grown from an average of about 12 hours to about 18 hours.
While the show has gotten more film in the can as a result, "We won't continue. It's been just too tough on everyone," Dourdan says. An upcoming episode features Warrick in almost every scene, as he must run the crime lab while Gil Grissom (William Petersen) is on vacation.
"CSI" has consistently been winning its 9 p.m. Thursday timeslot in the young fall season, averaging about 21.5 million viewers and even building on its "Survivor" lead-in.
