Begin mind speaking mode.

"I don't know why I bothered watching this series. Oh yeah. 'This is a KSS anime, meaning that it will have good art and the voice actor list seems good enough.' Even so, I don't know why I bothered to watch all of the OVAs. It was too shallow and I know parents will have a hissy fit about this one for sure. 'Maybe it was my duty to do so?' I guess that's a good enough reason."

End mind speaking mode.

Okay! "Guardian Hearts", which is based on a manga from Kadokawa's Shnen Ace by Amatsu Sae-sensei from what I have learned from Miyuki (the fan sub group I got the series from), is a naughty series that came out last year in the form of 6 15-minute OVAs from KSS. Watari Kazuya is your typical sap. Out of nowhere, this girl shows up in front of him. Her name is Hina and she can transform into a character that goes under the name of Guardian Hearts. Her rivals, Maya, Kurusu and Chelsea are there to win Kazuya's heart and they will do whatever it takes to do that, meaning that they will have to take out Guardian Hearts. Of course, the girls have no idea that Guardian Hearts is Hina.

Fun - 3

Oh sure, there are a few scenes that made me chuckle like Kazuya's mom calling his son pathetic at times. Oh sure, there are a few touching scenes like Chelsea's birthday. Oh sure, oh wait. That's about it.

There's little to no story at all. It felt shallow in terms of plot and presentation. Focus on story! Plus, don't forget the other characters. Characters like Hina and Maya got way too much time to shine.

Life - 3

Will I watch this again? Only if I feel like it. Of course, that means that I won't go through many rounds of watching this.

Story - 2

Story? Ha ha ha! I'm sorry. Simply put, this is one of its weak points.

Audio - 8

Eh. The music is just there. It didn't click with me as I had hoped for. The seiy on the other hand are a different story. The group is as good as I had hoped for. Then again, it has Orikasa Ai-sama as Tsaki, Kazuya's mom and Ikezawa Haruna-san as Chelsea as well as some other actors that aren't at the top of my head. So, I guess this aspect's a bright spot of the series. Well, at least for me, it is.

Art - 10

It's KSS. Of course it means great art. This one is no exception.

Overall - 5

Gomen nasai Ai-sama, Haruna-san, minna-san. I may have had some fun moments, but this is not a series I can easily recommend to anyone. It's too shallow and some characters did not get enough time to sparkle. There are plenty of series better than this.

+

The voice actors and some touching moments as well as the art are the high points.

-

In the end, it felt too shallow in terms of presentation and plot.
