IT DIRECTOR

The first topic of this site is about the dilemma the IT department mostly experience or the most common problems that IT department face when they deal with the business units in the organization.

Firms that sometimes invest more in IT doesn't always have a greater productivity improvements.There are many factors that will determine productivity of the firms. It's not just about how much should be spent in improving the computer center but it must also include other crucial factors such as
  • management aspects
  • status of the employees
  • relationship with the vendors

IT has also proved itself to be very beneficial if all of its factors such as IT costs, organizational structures , standards and operation are well managed.
Throgh the research people have found that more than one-half (53 percent) of IT projects had overrun their schedules and budgets and thirty-one percent of IT projects were cancelled. IT is an absolute requirement in any company today.

Most importantly, companies spend as much as 9 percent of their annual revenues on a function that didn't exist 40 years ago. These days organization invest in information technology, not for productive gain but atleast for competitive parity. Next chapter will outline some of the symptoms and causes of the IT dilemma and attempts to answer some of these questions.
