This website was created in memory of our daughter, Haley who was born in Richmond Hill, Ontario in Canada on December 18, 2001. Haley passed away suddenly at home in the early morning of October 15, 2002, one day after Thanksgiving Day. (The cause of her death was originally suspected to be Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, a condition resulting from excessive thickening of the heart muscle. At this point in time, we do not know the conclusive cause of her death. It is still being investigated by the coroner/doctors and the official report will not be available for several months.)

Haley will always be loved and painfully missed by her 5 year old BIG brother Matthew, mommy and daddy including her grandparents, godparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and other many relatives and friends from Canada, Malaysia, Hong Kong, England and the U.S. In the summer of 2002, during the months of July and August, Haley was fortunate to have traveled to Malaysia and Hong Kong to meet her grandparents and her daddy's immediate family, relatives and friends for the first time. (Click on this link "ImageStation" if you are interested in viewing some pictures from our trip)

Haley's middle name, Noelle was chosen to mark her birth being close to Christmas. Her Chinese name, Jyng Mei was chosen by her grandparents from Malaysia and it meant "calm flower". The Mei flower called "Plum Blossom" in English is actually the Chinese national flower and is known to have great symbolic value for the Chinese people because of its resilience in harsh winter weather.

During her short time with us, Haley was known to be a very loving, fun and intelligent baby. She was always happy and had the most beautiful smiles planted on her face all the time. The only time when she didn't smile was when she was hungry or tired. One of the things that she enjoyed very much was playing with water; she loved getting her baths and was always excited about her swimming lessons. Also, she liked being around kids and really enjoyed the taste of a Krispy Kreme donut !

Matthew and Haley had a very special bond between each other when they were together. Matthew was always proud to be Haley's BIG brother and he took great care of her all the time and Haley, being the little sister, always adored and worshipped him. Haley received extraordinary love, devotion and undivided care from her mommy throughout her short life. She was inseparable from Haley and always gave her the very best. Since she was born, the only time she was apart from Haley was when she went for a haircut for about 2 hours, just a few weeks prior to Haley's departure from us.

We trust this website will fulfill the following objectives:

- celebrate Haley's short life with us in this world and ensure that her spirits & memories will live with us forever and

- give every family member, relatives and friends the opportunity to be close to Haley when they feel the need.
