Downtown Halifax Stuff

Message From the Councillor Vibrant and diverse Downtown Halifax has a lot to offer its residents, and visitors alike. Founded in 1749, due to its wonderful harbour and the hill that would become the site of the Citadel, this area forms the core of the known as Halifax Regional Municipality. Lately there has been a tremendous number of movies shot in District 12 featuring Harrison Ford, Kevin Spacey and Dame Judy Dench, Mary Tyler Moore to name a few. Our other special cultural and historic celebrations such as Canada Day (July 1st) and our Natal Day Celebrations held July 31st to August 4th. I hope that you will join us and enjoy the great hospitality and events during this summer.
