I just got back from MSG, and all I can say is...JEEBUS....this was my 9th show and it is quite possibly the best one I have ever been too.Robert Randolph was a dope opener, but on to the show. The band came out and Stefan was warmin' up the bass so we expected Dont Drink the Water, but Dave surprised us with a tremendous version of CRUSH!!..Dave was dancin his heart out and it was only the first song..so much energy..along with a loud crowd..I have never heard of DMB opening with Crush, so I knew we would be in for a kickass show.Next was a great version of Warehouse followed by a sweet but standard version of Too Much.I didnt know what to expect next, but I was pullin for #41, and Dave delivered.I got the chills when it started, it was incredible, not too long of a jam on the outro, but still incredible. After screaming my head off Dave grabbed for the electric and I figured it was time for the first downer of the show, but Dave kept the energy flowin with a sweet version of So Right. This song has come along way since last summer, and is by far the best song off everyday.Thinking it was time for the band to calm the pace, I was surprised to hear the one song I have wanted to hear live for 4 years..PIG!!..i figured it would be later on in the set so it was a wonderful surprise.I missed a part of this song because the crash fan next to me asked me if they played #41 last night and i said no, and he replied "awesome i can't wait for it tonight"..even though he sat down in his chair when they played it two songs ago..dumbass..Anyway the energy from the band lead into a excellent DIDO, Carter kicked ass on his drum solo to end it.One Sweet World came next and i almost crapped my pants to say the least. The crowd was really into it, it was great.Dave grabbed for the electric again and played a predictable Space Between.Standard version, but i dont care if ya'll hate this song, i still enjoy it everytime i hear it.The radio fans came alive for this one, lifting their lighters and finally getting out of their seats.Next was another standard verion of WWYS, crowd was really into to it, great lights, and great solos by Dave and LeRoi.Hoping for LIOG since Dave still had on the acoustic, he played the first real downer of the show in If I Had It All.As quick as Dave can pick up the energy of the crowd, he can kill it.The crowd gave a hell of a cheer after the song but i think they were just happy it was over.Grace is Gone was next. One of my all-time favorites and the only lilywhites song of the night.I love being the only one standing in a section and singing to make the others jealous.I like the change to Boyd's part in this song for the new album. The crowd got back into the show with R&R, the Garden was renergized like at the beginning of the night. It was only about 10:20, when they played a killer version of Ants, great solo by Boyd, the crowd was insane and so was the band.It seemed alittle early for Ants, because they have recently been ending sets with it.The band stayed on stage thankfully, and out came Robert Randolph to play in the next song.He gave Dave and the guys huge hugs and put his hat on Dave's head.Stefan started rockin on the bass, which turned into The Star-Spangled Banner which was incredible. Then he went into the WATCHTOWER intro solo.Ants, then Watchtower,...JEEBUS...Robert Randoplh played a crazy solo, and at one point it looked as if he knocked over his keyboard, but he caught it with his foot and lifted it back up, crowd loved that move. This one had the crowd going wild, and it cost me my voice as well. After Watchtower the band and Randolph hugged more and then went to the dressing room leaving us cheering for more for between 5 to 10 minutes. I expected to see Dave come out solo and play Waste or LBV, but the whole band came out.At the mic Dave asked that if after they played a couple songs if it would be ok if they could take a picture with the crowd (similar to Giants Stadium in 98)Dave started up with WAYG, and it was solid. First repeat song from last night so it was kind of disappointing, but it was good to be the only one in my section standing and singing.Everyone expecting to hear Tripping Billies as the closer but the band went ahead and played another repeat in the best version of Everyday that i have ever heard.I didnt want this as a closer at all when it started, but it was so good that i didn't care, much better than the version that opened last night.Boyd had a great opening solo with the backdrop of the crowd singing #36.After Everyday, they played a sweet version of #36.The crowd was already singing the words before Dave even got to the mic. With Everyday over, the band posed for a few shots with the crew and just the band with the crowd going crazy behind them.During the whole photo process, the entire arena is chanting..one more song..so what does the band do...walk into the dressing room.I no it's rare for them to play a double encore thing like that, but it was the last show of the spring leg of the tour, a rescheduled show no less, in the greatest city in the world.I guess ya cant have everything.Anyway...a wonderful show, great energy, much better than last night.See ya'll in Camden in July!...whut up Josh.
