Preparation of reports and presentations of these energy models to planning division for evaluation and implementation. Developed energy models based on 10 years historical data and correlated it with climatic data when it become available later. I have attended seminars on how to incorporate the changes in load forecasting from radars and weather satellite data, though the technology has not been implemented in my company. • Generation Planning Long term and short term generation planning depending upon the energy models taking into account the generation and fuel availability and its cost, transmission line & busbar load and its capacity so as to keep the utility cost to a minimum. For generation planning different software for scheduling, long and short term planning are employed incorporating the unit availability and AGC control, commitment and merit order, ramping as per heat rate and technical limits. I also have to keep track of the fuel stock levels of different companies and monitoring their daily usage. I issue the day ahead and day+1 ahead notification of energy. I also coordinate in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual energy demands placed to GENCOs for arrangement of fuel, supplies and spares. I examine the failure to achieve despatch level notifications for levy of LD (Liquidated Damages) and power quality violations. I have to coordinate in arranging annual dependability test of power stations as per the schedule. • Power Despatcher I am fully experienced in all kinds of switching operations on 500 & 220 kV transmission lines, transformers and isolating equipment. I can independently manage the network comprising more than 75 grid stations and power stations of 500 & 220 kV, managing a peak load of about 13,500 MW in 2005 and very long transmission network. I am skilled in all routine and emergency switching procedures for shutdown, testing or maintenance through manual/ written communication or through SCADA by telecouplers and synchro-check relays. I am conversant with generation despatch according to system security and merit order of hydel as well as thermal units of different capacities employing steam and gas turbines running on furnace oil, gas, nuclear fuel or coal. I have command over the voltage control and system stability issues, and am conversant with the heat rate and efficiency of machines, technical problems and how best to resolve them.
