Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Mood:  energetic
Now Playing: Matthew West "The End"
If any of you were at Campus Crusade last week, and wondered what the whole Michael Bolton thing was about, here are all the answers to your questions. However, I think the most imortant question to be asked is not "Why did we kidnap Michael Bolton?" but rather, "Why does Kyle Isenberg have a lifesized cardboard poster of Michael Bolton?" Indeed, it is a perplexing reality.

After Kyle brought him to Cru to "guest host," the idea was born. Four of us got together and plotted the kidnapping of Michael Bolton. We conspired until the wee hours of the morning, and at approxiamately 4:30 a.m, we set out to accomplish our goal..... Aaand the door was locked. But persistence is the key.. as the door was unlocked the next night. P.S. Thank you to our getaway driver, whose identity shall remain anonymous.

We left a ransom note.. a menacing voicemail.. and even an e-mail with "photographic evidence" Yes, we cheezed it up quite a bit. But how could you kidnap Michael Bolton and NOT have it be cheesy?.......That's what I thought.

In our ransom e-mail, we informed him that he must write a song telling us why he wants Michael back. So that's why last Tuesday, Kyle grabbed a guitar while on stage and sang, "Michael Bolton, I miss you so much.. Michael Bolton, I miss your sweet touch.." Ahh... that made it totally worthwhile.

Here are the pictures than some of you have been asking me to email them. I also thought I'd throw them on the ol' blog to provide entertainment for the bored, the curious, and the procrastinators.

p.s. We didn't end up using the masks, but they turned out so funny that I thought, "What the heck" I'll post them as well. =) Enjoy!

IHOP!
Mood:  caffeinated
Now Playing: David Crowder Band "Revolutionary Love"
We had a regional Southwestern Meeting in Sioux Falls tonight at 9:00.. good times! We played some games and got pretty rowdy. I got a nasty rugburn on the top of my foot from trying to run and slide under the table (haha.. I'll let you guys wonder about that one!) If the training meetings are this much fun, I can't wait until Sunday Meetings this summer! A few of us went to IHOP afterwards, which was pretty smart, considering I have a French exam at 10 tomorrow morning... Je suis bete! but what can ya do, really? I had a heavily caffeinated mocha cappucino earlier today while I was out selling ad space, and man.. I'm still going strong. Not cool!!!

Oh, and I got pulled over right as I got into town... I've lived in Brookings for roughly two years now, and all this time I thought the speed limit was 35 on 6th street, but apparently it's only 30. He let me off with a warning, which was AWESOME, but I had to sit with him while he wrote up the ticket, and watch everybody in my car point and laugh.

WARNING: sickeningly sweet- may induce diabetes
Happy Valentines Day! Because today is a day that focuses on dating relationships, I thought I'd dedicate this post to all of you strong, beautiful women of God who are content to be single until Mr. Right comes along.. So in the spirit of Valentines Day, here is some food for thought straight from yours truly..

Valentines Day can be one of two things: an amazing day that serves as a reminder of someone's unfailing adoration for you, or a disappointment.  Just because you're single doesn't mean you have settle for the latter. When you woke up this morning, God looked upon you and thought to Himself, "I created her, and she is beautiful." (Psalm 139:14) You are one of the few in this world who is in a relationship with Someone who loves her so much, he died for her. No boyfriend could ever beat that.

So remember.. Flowers die, and candy goes straight to the hips.. but God's love endures FOREVER!

Your future husbands have pretty high standards to live up to. ;)

Happy V-day! I love you all!

p.s. Soak up the sentiments, because this is the last sickeningly sweet entry I shall post in a long, long time. I will most likely delete this after I come to my normal, sarcastic senses. =)

Evangelism Linebackers and Lasertag!
Mood:  cheeky
Now Playing: Jesse McCartney "Beautiful Soul"
Well lookie here.. The second entry this month! I feel so on top of things! This post will be dedicated to the fun times that were had these past few weekends. My bestest friend in the entire world came up to visit us, a rare occurence due to MCAT studying.

I would first like to take a few moments to ponder the men in our lives.. or perhaps I should say "boys." I might be going out on a limb when I say this, but it is my firm belief that men have a bigger problem with impulse shopping than women. Here is my evidence. Jason and Mike flocked to the local watering hole (aka Wal-mart) in the wee hours of the morning, and returned an hour and a half later with their recent purchase: 2 sets of laserguns. That's right.. laserguns. 50 bucks each. (why?!) Now, I'm not going to lie. I enjoy playing lasertag as much as the next girl. I just can't say i've ever felt the need to play at 2 in the morning. But don't knock it 'till you try it, folks.

The next morning... afternoon-ish... we made a video for the youthgroup based on the "Evangelism Linebacker" video we saw at TCX. Kirk played the Evangelism linebacker and, I must say, was quite convincing. It is unanimously agreed upon that the highlight of the video was Chad's unnaturally high-pitched scream. It still haunts my dreams at night.

I got to give a short little talk at Cru about confession last Tuesday. T'was exciting. It was my first time up on stage, unless you count the eggnog drinking contest back in December. There were maybe only 100 people there, but man.. it was a rush. I forgot some of the little points I wanted to throw in, but hopefully God still managed to speak through me. Mike gave an amazing talk/sermon at youth group the next night. He's quite the speaker. And he showed the Evangelism linebacker video we made last weekend.

We're all going shopping in Sioux Falls tomorrow so next time I post an entry, I will most likely be incredibly broke... yay.

TCX pictures! (hey, better late than never:)
Mood:  lazy
Now Playing: David Crowder Band- Revolutionary Love
Yeah, I KNOW it's been a long time. Sorry. Not only have I been extremely busy, but I haven't exactly been motivated to resize all these pictures and try to remember how to post them. I should probably do some kind of an update on my life.. Well, Vanity closed, which is a huge bummer because I LOVED THAT JOB, but I got a new one as a sales rep for the Collegian. Not only do I get to sell ad space, but sometimes I get to design the ads myself! Score! This'll look good on the resume, considering I'm an advertising major. I'm getting trained for my internship this summer.. really looking forward to that, especially since all my best friends (except for the loner out at USD) will be coming with me. Mike and I are still together.. it's been nine months now! Crazy! Other than all that, it's been same old, same old.
Anyway, here are some pictures from TCX. Unfortunately, the coolest aspects of the week could not be captured in pictures.. (fellowship with thousands of other believers, the intensity of the praise and worship, all that great stuff) But hopefully these will be entertaining for those of you who need distractions from homework and MCAT work. (you know who you are! ;)

Driving around Fairmont before heading out

Kyle, Mike, me, and Laura before heading up to the cities. I love the way my scarf is half-way falling off. I'm so cool! =)~

Mike, me and Kyle at Marshall Fields. We got checked in at the Hilton early so we got to mosey around downtown Minneapolis for a few hours.

Laura, me, Mike, Kyle, and Josh hanging out before one of the speakers

Everyone forgot to buy plastic knives so we had to be a little inventive with the peanut butter.

One of our photo scavenger hunt pictures!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!
Mood:  special
Now Playing: Mercy Me "Here With Me"
Hello Internet, we meet again! In honor of the new semester, I have to decided to start fresh with a new blog. I'm starting out with a bang... Here are a bunch of pictures of my 20th birthday shindig from earlier tonight. (technically yesterday) Thanks guys! You're the best and I love you all.

I'll probably write more tomorrow but right now, I have to hit the hay. I'm getting up bright and early for my first class at noon. =) Tuesdays and Thursdays definitely make up for the craziness of MWF's..

Merci beaucoup pour le bon anniversaire! Bonne nuit mon amies! =)
