The origins of Blagrave are hidden in the mists of time, but there are many rumours... Some say that the place was used by William The Conqueror in 1065 when he arrived in England for a holiday. It was then that he fell in love with the country and decided to invade the following year. However, others have suggested that Blagrave has more modest origins, built in 1966 to provide cheap accommodation for students. The truth will perhaps never be known. Updates from our team of archaeologists, historians, anthropologists and holiday reps will be posted here.

So... who was right?
