Bacon & Day Silverbell #1 1923

My dream is fulfilled. B&D Silverbelle. Bought from Prince Edwards Island Canada. Its a very early modell serial number 11053 wich places it in the late 1923. That Year Silverbell was introduced. It has the old ventilated tonering and the round hole flange. It is in very good condition and has got a new head. The friction pegs however were worn out and has been be replaced with geared tuners. I have also found an original contemporary Oettinger tailpiece. The case is original and so is the wrench and the open wrench. I have not manage to track itīs previous owners. The only thing I know is that it was owned by an old lady after her late husband. When she passed away she gave the banjo away. I have localized the banjos brother with serial 11052 in S:t Petersburg Florida.

Itīs an old Silverbell! With ventilated tonering.

The serial numbers 11033 are there. On the rim and on the dowelstick.

And the King plectrum guard seems to have been there since 1923.

More will come
