John J. Andrew has extensive experience building consumer healthcare marketing programs for physicians, hospitals and managed care plans. He has designed a variety of call center and Internet-based communication programs that allow providers to build their businesses and strengthen their relationships with existing customer-patients.

John began his marketing career with the national BlueCross BlueShield Association in Chicago before moving to Boulder, CO to join a small health care marketing company, Consumer Health (a.k.a., CallConnect Communications by aquisition). At CallConnect Communications he developed programs for managed care plans, hospitals, IDNs and pharmaceutical companies. John graduated summa cum laude with a degree in philosophy from the University of Chicago. He has been with American Medical Pathways since October of 1998.

1994 - 1998 CallConnect Communications, Inc. Boulder, CO

Director, Eastern Sales

Responsible for developing and expanding the market for 1-800-DOCTORS among large Eastern U.S. IDNs. Charged with developing relationships with CEOs and other senior executives of targeted IDNs in order to win their support for this marketing program and bring them to closure. Accountable for East Coast sales strategy, business forecasting and meeting quarterly new revenue targets.

Senior Sales Consultant/ Product Manager, Independent Provider Network

Responsible for selling customized call handling services to hospitals and MCOs. New accounts generated 1.2 million in new revenue during their first years of operation, 5/97 - 5/98. Also responsible for selling and managing the implementation for two national BCBS member service programs: BlueCard and the Away From Home Care program, which involved working with all 52 BCBS local Plans.

Managed the activities for 12 field reps and six inside sales reps. Responsible for hiring, firing and restructuring reps’ compensation plans to better achieve marketing goals. Directed activities necessary to procure new marketing collateral.

Wrote proposals to win national account business for BCBS Plans’ managed care products. Consulted on all aspects of local Plan’s business (network development, demand management strategies, etc.) in order to produce winning bids for accounts such as General Motors, Ameritech and United Airlines.
