The first ad ever on TV was a toothpaste one. It was a memorable one. I forgot what its called. Enjoy these other funny n weird adverts.
All adverts are Windows Media Player (wmv) files. Just right click on the links, I think.
Dunlop - Tested for the Unexpected
This is the one from November 1993 I was talking about. And this is why my home page has weird in its title. The oddest, most disturbing advert from the whole of the nineties, in my opinion. Features pianos falling off bridges, silver children, a laughing man, ball bearings, the devil in a spiky leather balaclava, and a rubber glove. And all for tyres. The moral is to never go through a desert. At least without quality Michelins.
Dime - Armadillos
A funny advert, featuring the funny man, Harry Enfield, who apparently doesnt like dime bars, and prefers armadillos. Which is an odd way to promote their product. Still, its a shame that dime never made another advert like this one ever again. Oh well, its their loss of profit.
Carling - Just the Two of Us
This is my favourite beer advert, even better than Wassup (which isnt on this website.) It features a man trying to chill a fridge of Carlings, and learns to work together with a crab. As the motto goes, Cracking.
Kitkat - Claw Machine
This is a short advert without any speech, but is still funnyish. Girl and father try to win a teddy bear in a claw machine. Lets just say they get half their luck.
Tango - Youve been Tangoed (Old one)
This advert came third in the 100 Greatest Ads thing on Channel 4 two years ago. Even though theyve brought a new series of ads stating You know when youve been tangoed as their logo, the original from 1994 is still better. Ad breaks are so much more bearable with Tango.
Lilt - Engineered for Summer
Recently, Levis made one of the most expensive adverts ever, apparently costing more than the Blair Witch Project (Im guessing.) Even more recently, Lilt made fun of this advert. With hilarious results. Timber!!
Fosters - Yuko Yuko Robot
A classic ad from Fosters, very funny. Japanese guy buys robot. Guy leaves while robot cleans house. Guy comes back. Finds robot enjoying intimate moment with microwave and hoover. And a fantastic catchphrase was born. Urgghh!
Be sure to come back soon as therell probably be more adverts to watch. Does anyone know where I can get those great Grolsch ads? Shtop!! This bride, she is not ready yet. She needs to evolve a couple million years.
