Abstrakt Workshop
Greetings Fellow Captain!
I am Marcus, captain of the AbstraktWorkshop from 0748 to 1057, at which time the AbstraktWorkshop was decommissioned. The captain had to acknowledge metaphysical obligations of a higher order and this precluded further action in the realm of space labeled TBG. I was an independent captain and had no obligations to any of the alliances.
As some anonymous stated, every player shall have their 15 minutes of Wise Prophethood.
Well, my 15 minutes lasted from 0917 – 1057. I thank my many Chosen as well as many other ships for having supported me during that time.
Following are my thoughts on what I think the universe should expect of it's Wise Prophet – while I won’t assume that my vision is the most perfect vision of the Wise One’s Will, I leave behind the legacy of my prophethood in the event some other vessel should find it useful.
If you should support me, as Prophet of the Wise One:
- I or one of my Chosen shall cast ‘Predict Evil’s Movement’ any and every time the situation to do so presents itself. This spell shall be cast on a rotating basis and once the results are available, I shall coordinate to arrange protection for the Dybuk-targeted ship.
- I shall select chosen on the basis of a proven commitment to the ways of the Wise One: for now, this includes ships dedicated to sharing adventures, assisting new captains to establish themselves in the game (e.g, the Module Trade Board), tracking of the location of the Dybuk and assisting Dybuk targeted ships, and generally helping to disseminate knowledge of ship advancement strategies. These criteria are not restricted to established ships and I will use both information gleamed from the rankings lists as well as the evaluation of those communicative captains who demonstrate their commitment to the Wise One with the substance of their posts to the SST, Open-Forum and other forums of which I am aware. Chosen ships are expected to praise at least 1 in 3 turns.
- What does this mean for chosen ships? I am a member of the TBG Adventures list. Ships that share adventures there are recognized as serving the way of the Wise One. I expect all Chosen to also be a part of this list and to encourage new ships to enlist in this forum. Chosen ships will be expected to post weekly all adventures of skill equal to or less than 13. Skill level 13 is significant because an officer with that skill plus a full crew can successfully maintain and repair Exotic modules (a fully trained and maxed out crew of officer skill 13 will yield a total officer skill of 26 - which enables the maintenance of Exotic modules at +1 percentage point per turn). I believe it is in the interest of the Wise One to help ships get to this threshold as soon as possible. Additionally all long-term Chosen ships will be expected to maintain a minimum of 15 terminal accesses. This will ensure that Chosen ships have at least a net of '0' when praising me once every 3 turns and will also help to promote higher science favor levels. Chosen ships will also assist in tracking terminal purgers, repurging compromised terminals and, when necessary, executing the punishment of offending ships. Thus, Chosen must also be a part of the Terminal Codes list. As I am quite new to this responsibility, I will require that my Chosen assist me in creating a streamlined means of tracking terminal information.
- I shall not in principle exclude multi-chosen status, but will in principle try to minimize this possibility. I stand by the positions of the other prophets [Merciful, Mighty, and (currently) Fierce] in this regard: there may be times where a multi-chosen ship is best suited to serve the ways of the Wise One and the Universe.
- I shall try to keep separate the interests of the Wise One from the political sphere. This may seem absurd, and in some respects it is. However, insofar as the interests of the Wise One do not conflict with the politics of the universe, there is no need for the Prophet to interfere in the political sphere.
- Unless an alliance provokes such a decision, I shall not exclude or make Chosen on the basis of alliance affiliation [major alliances with which a familiarity is worthwhile (in no particular order): SIR, Smuggler's Net, FSP, FIST, UPF, Menudo, Mercenary's Guild].
- Due to a principled conflict in conceptions of ‘Law’, I have rejected the UPF. Furthermore, it is clear that portions of their policies do conflict with the will of the Wise One. No UPF members shall be eligible for Chosenhood. Captains working to directly assist the UPF organization will be regarded as working against the will of the Wise One.
- Wise Chosen who are members of an alliance at war with another, alternately allied, Wise Chosen must consult with me about their intentions toward fellow Wise Chosen. In some cases, Chosenship may be revoked.
- I shall not require advanced notice of denounces for favor exchange - only expecting a post in the SST.
- I shall only excommunicate ships that obstruct the fulfillment of these goals. Chosen will be expected to assist in executing the punishment and arbitration of excommunicated ships.
These points are mostly, I believe, standard fare and so should not come as any surprise. If you would like to discuss these points please contact me. (Back)
Safe Voyaging,
Marcus

- The so-called Unholy Trinity:
- Better Ship Lollipop: (excommunicated) aiding the release of Dybuk and terminal purging
- Alpha: releasing Dybuk (about every 5th turn)
- Orange: possessor of the Evil Science Ring
- USS Destiny’s Voyage: purged Markab without authorization, no response to inquest
