Square Stitch
For our June project, ABS member JoAnn McEwen will be teaching Square Stitch. Click here for a printable square stitch graph in case you want to design your own pattern. If you are new to this stitch, you may want to keep it simple – 3 or 4 rows wide, 1 or 2 colors, a geometric pattern, or even just a solid color. Any loom or cross-stitch pattern (using whole stitches) will also work for square stitch. You can use just about any kind of bead (other than triangle, according to Sally!) but newbies may want to stick with a larger size cylinder or Delica bead or a cube bead. If you do choose to try it with round seed beads, make sure they are uniform in size and shape or you may not be happy with the results. If you need more inspiration, click here Square Stitch Samples to see lots of examples of items made using square stitch. This is a great stitch to have in your arsenal – don’t miss it.
Don't forget to bring something for Show & Tell.
See you there!
