History of Tintin in Turkey
1) The Adventure of Tintin (Tenten) began in Turkey in 1949. The magazine, Dogan Kardes (Doğan Kardeş) published Tintin in strip formate with its original name Tintin B&W. Later editions in Turkish whether pirate or official, it was Tenten, not Tintin. Doğan Kardeş published first, Tintin; The Prisoners of the Sun (Güneş Tapınağı - Gunes Tapinagi), and then Tintin in Congo ( Tenten Kongo'da)

The front page of Doğan Kardeş

After Doğan Kardeş Tintin was in Çocuk Haftası, Resimlerle Hikayeler. This will be updated later.
2) After Doğan Kardeş, Armağan (Armagan) (Armağan can be translated as gift or present) in 1958 published Tintin with its new name TENTEN (after that time, everyone in Turkey will use the name Tenten instead of Tintin.) The covers of the albums were not same as the originals.

3) In 1961 the Publishing House Karaca, published Tintin in Arkadaş - Arkadas Magazine (Arkadaş can be translated into English as Friend)). The order of tintin in Arkadas was strange; It was beginning with on half page of frontpage, coloured(drawings in its orginal form), 1/3 sometimes1/2 of second page B&W on pink, sometimes light blue ground and same the page before last page and last page was entirely colored in its original form. The other adventures in Arkadaş magazine was Valhardi, Marc Dacier and Red kit (Lucky Luke). There were two adventures in Arkadaşs; Turnesol Affair, The Red Sea Sharks. After finishing these two adventures Karaca published these two in its original soft cover formate.

4) In 1962 Burhan Yayınevi (Burhan Publication House) was on the way. They published Tintin with the name of Burhan Yayinevi and B yayınları (B publications) Especially the drawings on the front page was drawn by the Turkish artists. Despite having not so high popularness, Burhan Yayinevi made his artists draw the pirate adventures after the official ones;
Marmara Canavarı (Marmara Monster) (Marmara; is the name of a district and a sea in Turkey), Uğursuz Film ( Ominous Movie ), Tenten İstanbul'da (Tintin in Istanbul), Yamyamlar Adası ( The Island of Cannibals ), Perili Dağ ( Fairy Mountain ), Asilere Karşı ( Versus Rebellious ) , Esrarengiz Sirk (Mysterious Circus), Merihe Gidiyoruz (We are travelling to Merih (Mars))

5) From the beginning of 70's to late of 80's Alfa Publishing House presented 22 adventures to fans in different formate in different times. And later, amazingly The Lake of Sharks as 23rd one. ( The Lake of Sharks was first published by Alfa in Turkish (B&W)),

6) And secondly, Milliyet Çocuk published The Lake of Sharks, this time colored, two pages weekly in the magazine Milliyet Çocuk in 1975 during 7-8 months And Milliyet Çocuk in 1987 published again one adventure.

In 1983 also Golden Fleece by Milliyet Çocuk (Tenten İstanbul'da) must be mentioned.
In 1989, this time newspaper Milliyet gave 23 adventures with newspaper. And more amazingly one of the adventures Milliyet published was Marmara Canavarı (not official).
And the Tintin Adventures original editions;
7) In 1994 Yapı Kredi Publication House published Tintin (23 adventures, not Alpart) in its original form (If We do not accept Karaca)
.....(23
adventures)
8) Beginning from 2004, till now İnkilap Yayınevi publishing Tintin, most qualified Tintin edition in Turkey in 60 years.
....(until
now 15 adventures published)
The fans are really curious if Publishing House İnkilap will publish Alphart. No Publishing House in Turkey official or not did not publish Alphart. According to the romours this time it will be published by İnkilap.
