The Bagdogra Airport (which serves Siliguri) is located just a couple kilometres from the base! This can be quite convenient if you are arriving by air. The Bagdogra Air Force base is also in the area. On occasion this airport is the host of public air shows by the Indian Air Force. You are not allowed to bring cameras into the front viewing area in the airport but can still get good photos of the planes from outside of the airport. In fact you can choose to view the show without even leaving the YWAM base if you wish.
