Recently I've been all content and dreaming, I have been.
Cause I've been lately seeing quite a bit of this woman who lives on my street.
Trina and Carter left the day after Christmas. Zac and Taylor spent the day with Isaac
before he went back to Colorado for another semester of medical school. They spent
most of the time talking about Ruby.
Ruby spend her vacation days sleeping late and listening to the tape Zac made her.
Most of her local friends were out of town so she stayed home doing some laundry she
had brought home. Her phone rang as she was coming through the kitchen.
“Hello?” She answered picking up the cordless phone.
“Hey baby,” Zac said laying down on his bed.
“Hey yourself,” she smiled walking through the house.
“What are you doing?”
“Laundry,” she said holding the phone between her ear and her shoulder while she
folded towels.
“Aww, you’re so cute when you do domestic chores. Are you naked?” He
grinned.
Ruby laughed. “Not at the moment. But you know what?”
“What?”
“My mom’s still at work so I’m home all by myself with nothing to do,” she told
him.
“Hmm,” he smiled. “You want company?”
“Can you come over?” She asked.
“Absolutely. I have to say bye to Isaac, he’s about to leave,” Zac explained. “But
I’ll be over in a few minutes.”
“Okay, let yourself in.”
“Alright. See ya,” Zac said.
“Bye.”

“I love you,” Ruby said kissing across Zac’s chest. “I love you, I love you, I love
you.”
“I don’t believe you,” he laughed wrapping his arm around her shoulders as she
laid her head on his chest.
“Shut up,” she smiled up at him.
“Hey, do you have any plans for New Years Eve?” Zac asked running his fingers
through her hair letting it fall across his stomach.
“Do you?” She asked.
“Well my parents always go out so me and Taylor are having a party,” he said.
“What about your brothers and sisters?” She asked trailing her fingers over his
nipples.
“Jessica will be at a friends. Avery at a friends, Mac and Zoe will be at the
neighbors,” Zac explained.
“Wow. Sounds like a party. I’ll be there,” she said.
“Awesome,” he said turning to look at the clock on the nightstand. “Ew, yuck. I
don’t wanna go to work,” he whined.
“Aww. It’ll be okay,” she assured him as the phone rang. She got out of bed
taking Zac’s pale yellow buton-up dress shirt off the floor and putting it on. “Hello?” She
answered taking the phone off the desk.
“Hey my love,” Ben said.
“Hi sexy,” she smiled climbing back on the bed with Zac. He narrowed his eyes at
her and grabbed her around the waist.
“Is that Taylor?” Zac asked.
“Yeah right,” she laughed. “It’s Ben,” she whispered.
“Oh, hey Ben,” he said into the phone. “Listen, I’ve gotta get to work,” Zac said
quietly before placing a kiss on her cheek and climbing out of bed.
“Okay,” she smiled. “Hold on a sec, Ben. Can I keep your shirt?”
“Sure,” Zac said pulling on his khaki pants. “Only because it looks sexier on you
than it does on me.”
Ruby smiled and returned to her phone conversation as Zac finished getting
dressed. “So what are you up to tonight?”
“I don’t know. You want to go to dinner?” Ben asked.
“Yeah. What time?”
“Like 6:30?” Ben suggested.
“Cool. Can you pick me up since I’m a loser with no car?” She asked running her
fingers through her hair.
“Sure. I’ll be over there in like, an hour and a half.”
Zac finished tying his shoes and stood up. “I’ll call you later,” he whispered.
“Come here sweetie,” she said holding her arm out. “Bye. Have fun at work.”
“I will,” he said giving her a hug. “Bye,” he told her before giving her a quick kiss
on the lips.
“Mm, I love you,” she smiled.
“I love you too.” He kissed her forehead and left her room.
“Aww...blehhgh,” Ben teased making gagging noises.
