Okay.. where do I begin? First of all, that was the best/worst date I’ve ever been on. I think I figured out what’s wrong with Jocilyn. I act like a complete jackass the entire night and it never seemed to bother her. Not only did I forget to bring enough cash to dinner.. no, no that wasn’t even my finest moment... she suggests that we go up to my room and God knows why.. I tell her I don’t have any CONDOMS in my room. What?!? Zac, what were you thinking? I have no idea why, like an idiot, I said that. Like I have any shot at sleeping with her ever. ..Not that I was thinking about sleeping with her. But somehow, some way she felt the need to kiss me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely thankful that she felt that need. She left a few minutes later and I haven’t talked to her since. Maybe it was just a pity kiss... hell, I don’t care. She can pity me all she wants.

Jocilyn stopped for a few seconds during her jog around campus to stretch out against a bench. She bent her leg behind her and held onto her foot as she took deep breaths. After her rest, she started back up again, her dark ponytail swaying side to side.
Zac laughed as Griffin kicked the hackey sac across the main quad in attempt to pass it around the circle. "Nice one," Zac said bending down to pick it up. He tossed it up and bounced it off his knee, then the side of his ankle over to his friend Tripp. Zac looked up and saw Jocilyn running down the sidewalk as he was hit in the knee by the hackey sac.
"Zac," Griffin said. "Wake up."
"Oh.. I." He backed up and excused himself from his friends. "Hey, I’ll be back." He jogged across the lawn and met up with her at the sidewalk. "Jocilyn," he called from behind her.
She looked over her shoulder. "Zac," she smiled. "Hey there."
"Hi," he breathed keeping up with her.
She laughed. "What’s up?"
"Nothing. You run around here?"
She looked down at the cigarette between his fingers. "Yeah. I’m on the Cross Country team."
Zac looked down at his hand. "Oh." He tossed the cigarette aside and kept running with her.
Jocilyn let out a small laugh. "You’ve got good form there," she noticed.
"Not really," he breathed. "I’m just trying to show off for you." He stopped, bending down to rest his hands on his knees.
She slowed down beside him and stopped to rest. "Well I’m impressed," she let out a deep breath and lifted the bottom of her tank top to wipe the sweat off her face.
Zac swallowed, lowering his eyes to her bare stomach. "I um.."
She bent down, resting her hands on her knees so she could look at him face to face. "Hi," she smiled.
His sparkling brown eyes darted all around her face. "Hi," he smiled back.
"When am I gonna get to see you again?"
"Don’t you.. see me right now?"
"You know what I mean," she said reaching out to lightly pinch his elbow.
"Well.. what are you doing after your run?" He asked straightening back up.
"Most likely taking a shower," she told him standing up straight and resting her hands on her hips.
"Mm," he let out a tiny, barely audible frustrated moan.
"But after that, you’re welcome to drop by," she offered.
"Sure. How long should I give you?"
"Um," she checked her watch to see how long she had been running. "I’m gonna head back over to my building so.. half an hour?"
"Cool. See ya then," he smiled.
"Yep," she picked up her jog again and continued down the sidewalk.

Zac knocked on Jocilyn’s dorm room and was greeted by Caroline at the door. "Hey Zac," she smiled.
"Hey. Is Jocilyn here?" He asked peering over her shoulder into the room.
"Um, nope," Caroline looked behind her at Jocilyn’s bed. "She’s still in the shower I guess."
"Oh," Zac said sticking his hands in the pockets of his khaki cargo pants. "I just told her I’d come by."
"Well she’ll probably be out in a few minutes. Come in and wait," she offered.
"Alright," he agreed wandering into the neat room. He surveyed Jocilyn’s side including a collage of pictures on the wall, a pale green bedspread with an old, worn out Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal laying on the pillow. He picked it up while he walked over to her desk and noticed the numerous hardcover books stacked up. Micro-biology, Organic Chemistry, a scientific calculator, and a pile of notes were strewn about. He picked up a bottle of her perfume on the nearby dresser and examined it.
Jocilyn keyed into her room carrying her bucket of shower supplies, her body wrapped in a lavender towel. "Hey," she breathed noticing Caroline flipping through the channels on the TV.
"You’ve got company," Caroline told her.
Zac turned around attempting to replace the bottle of perfume on the dresser. He knocked it over and, with his eyes still fixed on Jocilyn’s body, tried to straighten out the contents on her dresser.
"Oh Zac, sorry my jog ended up a little longer," she explained. "I hope you weren’t waiting long," she said holding the towel around her body.
"N-no, I uh..," he reached behind him to place the stuffed animal on her dresser and knocked over her bottle of moisturizer and her perfume again. "Oh, I’m uh," he turned around to fix everything as she came over to him.
"Zac," she laughed. "I got it." Coming up behind him, she placed her hand on his side and guided him to move over. She picked up the Pooh bear and held it to her chest while she looked up at him.
"Oh," he raised his eyebrows. "You probably have to put clothes on."
"Yeah," she smiled. "It won’t take me long."
"Okay," he said backing up. "I’ll just be out here," he said letting himself out of a door. He came back out and laughed shyly, pointing to the closet. "That’s the uh.. closet I was.. I need this one," he told her finding the right door and excusing himself.
Jocilyn laughed and turned to look at Caroline. "He’s too much."
"He’s adorable," Caroline approved. "I don’t think he’s ever seen a girl before though."
Jocilyn laughed and opened a drawer to find something to put on.
"On your date he was able to form whole sentences, right?"
