WRITING SAMPLE
Scenario: A Monday morning around 10:15 a.m. You didn’t sleep well
last night. You’re meeting is running late. Your most important
customer has called twice. As the conference room doors open you see
your assistant waving to you above the gaggle of dark suits. The
assistant walks purposely toward you with your luggage in tow and the
proposal strapped on top (hard and disc copy). Handing you your
charged telephone Pat informs you, “Our best customer is on hold.”
Eight steps and you’re in the elevator. Twelve more steps and you
reach the idling cab. You hear the trunk door slam as you are handed
a prepaid FedEx envelope. On it, a Post-It reads “Confidentiality
agreement and power converter in carry-on with Mother’s Day card…its
Hallmark, but not sappy… the flowers are ordered.”
