The idea of this show was pretty simple: Lots of bands with short sets. Ryan organized this Rock For Relief benefit concert in order to raise money for the Tsunami victims in South East Asia. There were 12 different bands in all, in hopes that the wide variety of music would bring a whole lot of people.
The idea obviously worked, as over 200 people showed up for the concert, and $1000 was raised to donate to the Canadian Red Cross. As for the music, Andre, Guy, Andrew Strickland and Evan of Nice Guy Eddie opened the night with a set of Pearl Jam covers. This set the mood for the entire night, and the quality of music was great the whole time. We were the 10th band to play, and there was still a large crowd that stuck around to see us. We decided the 4 piece idea would be great, and we were defintiely right.
We started off our set with a new acoustic song that Jordan wrote, called "Cherophobia." The song is unbelievebly depressing, but people seemed to enjoy it anyway. Next we played another acoustic song, "No Excuses." The song is an Alice In Chains cover that we hadn't played in well over a year, and it went over really well. We then picked up the pace a bit, and played two of our own heavier songs, "Strange Taste", and the new one, "Jackpot!." To finish off the set, we played a Bush song that Jordan had been begging to play since the band started. It was a perfect way to end the set, and according to a lot of people, the set was one of our better ones in a while.
