Personality:
General Personality: Remus is a very easy-going, laid back type of guy. He is almost always calm and level-headed. However, if his friends are ever picked on or he is in grave danger, he gets cocky, spontaneous, and angry. (Inside his calm demeanor, lays a wolf waiting to burst out.)

Remus is a very intelligent person. He loves to read and study and do his school work just right. (Think of a male Hermione.) Remus was the ideal Prefect (well, maybe Lily was.) He follows the rules (that pertain to school work) and enjoys learning and teaching.
Pet Hate: Remus gets annoyed if he is trying to read or study and one of the other Marauders is bothering him.

Remus is a very well-mannered gentleman. He is kind to everyone at first, but if his first impression of them is not good, he won’t hold them in as high regard next time he meets them.

Sometimes Remus is seen as a little queer, but he’s not a homosexual, no; he’s a bisexual. Yes, he likes both girls and guys. Remus still believes that it doesn’t matter the gender of your partner as long as they are in a loving, committed relationship and care deeply for each other.

Either way, Remus doesn’t really ‘act’ or ‘dress’ gay (like the stereotypical ones). Sometimes he’ll act a little more flamboyant than he usually does, but that’s okay.
Dislikes: Remus dislikes Slytherins, Dark Wizards, people who annoy him or pick on his friends, seeing his friends in pain. Many other things are also disliked by this werewolf.
Phobias/Fears: Remus is deathly afraid of the full moon. This can be seen whenever he fights a boggart. Remus is also worried that something will happen to his friends, whom he is very protective of. He keeps a close eye on all of them, especially Sirius.
Goals/Dreams: Remus has many goals and dreams. One of his goals is to continue to work for the Order and the University as a teacher.

Appearance:
General Appearance: Remus J. Lupin has tawny hair and golden eyes. He stands at 6 feet and 1 inch and weighs 155 pounds. He is a very handsome young man with a lady-killer smile. (However, he doesn’t use it on many ladies, except when he needs to get his way.)

Remus doesn’t always wear the best clothes now, but he did more when he was younger. I’m not saying that his clothes are raggedy-taggity, but they’re not the top-of-the-line either. Rather than spend his money on lavish robes--like he did when he was younger--Remus is more conservative in what he buys clothes-wise and spends his money on other things.

Remus is still conscious of his looks, though. Sometimes, he’ll spend a little extra time in the morning to make sure his hair is fluffed up and looks just right.
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 155 lbs.
Defining Marks: Remus has a crescent moon-shaped scar on the lower portion of his left shoulder blade, which is always covered up (unless he has his shirt off.)

History:
Parents:
Father - Altair Lupin Mother - Celeste Lupin
Sibling(s): none
Children none
Family History: Altair Lupin and Celeste Corpus met at Hogwarts. Altair had always fancied Celeste with her bright blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair. Altair, on the other hand, had dark brown eyes and hair. However, in his youth, Altair was a shy young man. He was the quiet, brainy boy in Ravenclaw, while she was the more social person, Housed in Gryffindor. Celeste was also very bright, mind you.

Altair secretly crushed on Celeste, only telling his close House mates that he even liked her. One day, in their 5th year, their was a Yule Ball held at Hogwarts. Altair wrote Celeste a letter inviting her to accompany him to the dance. (He described himself and told her how much he adored her and many other things.) His owl delivered it to her at breakfast. She read the note and replied quickly. Of course he would be his date to the dance!

Altair and Celeste attended the school dance together. That was the start of their long-term relationship. After they graduated from Hogwarts, Altair proposed and Celeste accepted. They married and had one son, Remus J. Lupin.

When their only son was bitten by the werewolf they were both scared and surprised. Remus hadn’t listened to them, so now they had a lycanthropic son! To their delight, Remus bounced back soon after he first received that horrible bite.

Then when Remus received his acceptance letter into Hogwarts, Altair and Celeste were more than ecstatic. They were so happy for Remus! However, they were also worried for him. (Read below in Character’s History.) Character’s History: Remus J. Lupin was born to Altair and Celeste Lupin on the night of March 10th back in 1960. Altair and Celeste were thrilled to have a son. He was their one and only child. They pampered him, but didn’t spoil him. They made sure that he was happy, but that he didn’t get everything he wanted.

One night, 5-year-old Remus was playing out in his backyard, right near the edge of the woods. He heard a howl deep in the forest, and wanted to see what it was. He knew his parents had told him not to go play in the woods because there were things that could hurt him in there. Well, of course, what do 5-year-old little boys do? That’s right, they disobey their parents.

So young Remus wandered into the forest to go investigate the mournful howl. A few minutes into the woods, Remus heard a rustling in the bushes. He got down on his hands and knees and peered through the underbrush. Suddenly, a snarling wolf leaped out of the bushes. Remus squealed in a mixture of horror and delight. He was afraid of the wolf, but he also wanted to pet it.

Crawling forward slowly on his hands and knees, Remus reached out to pet the wolf. The wolf became frightened and angry and launched himself at Remus and bit him on the shoulder, leaving a crescent moon-shaped mark on the bottom of his left shoulder blade.

Remus howled in pain and agony as the wolf ran off. Remus stumbled back out of the woods, where his father had gone to look for him. Altair picked up Remus and carried him into the house. Celeste was crying and flipping out over Remus, who was shaking uncontrollably and beginning to foam at the mouth. Neither of his parents knew what to do, so they gave him a glass of water and some food and sent him up to bed.

That night, Remus made his first transformation into the werewolf. Ever since then, on the night of the full moon, Remus succumbs to the wolf inside of him. The only problem was that Remus was forced to be locked in the tool shed in the back yard so he wouldn’t run around and hurt anyone.

The summer before his eleventh birthday, Remus received his acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Remus was ecstatic, but he was worried that the other students would find out about his haunting secret. His parents were worried that he wouldn’t be allowed in because of his lycanthropy. However, both Dumbledore and McGonagall had sent another letter, signed by both of them, telling the Lupin family not to worry: Remus’ secret would be safe with them and he would still be allowed to attend.

On September 1, 1971, Remus caught the Hogwarts Express to the school for his first year at Hogwarts. The Sorting Hat Sorted him into Gryffindor, where he met his fellow House mates: Sirius Black, James Potter, and Peter Pettigrew. Together, they formed the mischievous band and deemed themselves “The Marauders.” James’ crush, Lily Evans, was made an honorary Marauder.

In his 2nd year at Hogwarts, Remus tried out for the Gryffindor Quidditch team and fulfilled the position of Seeker. (He was easily suited for it with his excellent eyesight, hearing, and reflexes.)

A few things happened during Remus’ 3rd year. One was namely his attending Hogsmeade on the designated weekend with the other Marauders. He and Sirius spent a lot of their time together in the Three Broomsticks, Zonko’s Joke Shop, or in Honeyduke’s Sweet Shop while James was off chasing Lily around and Peter was doing who knows what. However, when Sirius and James wanted to explore on their own, Remus contented himself with browsing around Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop, Dervish and Bangs, or Gladrags Wizardwear.

Remus eventually--in his 2nd year--revealed to the three boys that he was a werewolf. Even though he suffered from lycanthropy, Sirius, James, and Peter stuck by Remus. They even practiced and finally, in their 5th year, succeeded in transforming into unregistered Animagi. Remus was Moony, the werewolf. Sirius, who was the first to accomplish this feat, was Padfoot, the dog. James, who was next, was Prongs, the stag. Peter, the last one to learn, was Wormtail, the rat.

The Animagi were having fun every full moon with their lycanthropic best friend. They kept him company and made sure he didn’t go crazy and break out of the Shack and try to hurt anyone in Hogsmeade. (In fact, Moony’s howls, moans, and screams were what caused the wizarding citizens to become alarmed and think that the Shack was haunted. That is actually how the Shrieking Shack got its name.)

Many other things also happened during Remus’ 5th year. He and Lily Evans became Prefects; Dumbledore thought that they could help keep Sirius and James in line…like that really worked! One thing that Remus later felt slightly guilty about was that he didn’t have enough guts to tell James and Sirius to stop picking on Snape during a break after their D.A.D.A. O.W.L.

Not much happened in Remus’ 6th year. Sirius thought up the idea and the three other boys helped him to map out the whole school. They charmed the map to show where everyone was that they needed to avoid while causing mischief. And cause mischief they did! In fact, their motto was even, “To Mischief!” The Map was aptly named ‘The Marauders Map’. The Marauders used the map to explore Hogwarts and Hogsmeade by night.

Also during their 6th year, as a trick, Sirius thought it would be amusing for Severus Snape to meet Moony. He tricked Severus into heading down the tunnel to the Shrieking Shack. There, Snape almost got bit by Moony…before James pulled him to safety. Even though it was Sirius’ idea, Severus thought James was in on the trick which increased his hatred for James. He and James and Sirius were always at each other’s throats. If Severus were to get bit by Moony he either would have been turned into a werewolf himself or would have been killed. Dumbledore made Snape swear that he would never tell a single soul about what he saw and heard that night. Reluctantly, Snape was sworn to secrecy.

In Remus’ 7th year, James and Lily finally began dating; they were also Head Boy and Girl. Remus was happy for the two. James had been crushing on Lily ever since he laid eyes on her, and now he finally had her.

Then, graduation came. Remus graduated at the top of his class. (If they had a valedictorian at Hogwarts, he would be the one…and Lily would be the salutatorian.) After graduation, James and Lily became engaged, and then married. They had a place of their own in Godric’s Hollow. Remus and Sirius had a place of their own as well. The four continued to stay very close. None of them really kept in contact with Peter much, so they didn’t really wonder where he was or what happened to him.

Harry James Potter was born on July 31, 1980. James and Lily were ecstatic! They named Sirius as Harry’s godfather, who took the role on eagerly and willingly. Remus was happy for his two best friends and excited that Sirius was named godfather. Remus and Sirius babysat for Lily and James whenever they needed time alone. Remus was very much of a father figure to Harry, but didn’t show it unless they were in private. (Since Remus and Sirius where so close, it was an unspoken saying that if anything were to happen to Sirius, Remus would then be Harry’s godfather.)

Unfortunately, something did happen to Sirius. In 1981, Sirius was framed by Peter Pettigrew and was locked away in Azkaban from it. With his best friends gone, Remus was again by him, alone, like he had been for so many years previous to starting Hogwarts. Remus was heart broken and devastated that everyone that he had ever loved was gone from him in some way. (Then everyone else knows what happens from there.)

It was no surprise to anyone when Harry received his acceptance letter to Hogwarts University. He will now be starting his first year there. Everyone, including Remus J. Lupin, is anxious to see what will happen to the young Potter. In fact, Remus is now a teacher at HU. He teaches Animagi Transformations.
