Top.........
Hello all again, been busy getting school uniform ready for nextweek (the final time I'll have to buy any *sob sob*) and havin' a few pints down the local. After being bored for most of the holiday I'm now cramming in as much as I can do before I have to go back. For some unknown reason to myself, I decided to write a few lists of Top things (you know like those programmes you get on Channel 4 of a night time) so I'll put a couple down over the next few days for my own pleasure and for you to moan about if you wish. Heres my Top 25 (yes 25!)records and Top 5 things to identify yuppies.

1.RADIOHEAD-OK COMPUTER
2.RADIOHEAD-KID A
3.RADIOHEAD-THE BENDS
4.THE SMITHS-THE QUEEN IS DEAD
5.NEIL YOUNG-RUST NEVER SLEEPS
6.REM-AUTOMATIC FOR THE PEOPLE
7.VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO
8.SMASHING PUMPKINS-SIAMESE DREAM
9.MANICS-THE HOLY BIBLE
10.JOY DIVISION-UNKNOWN PLEASURES
11.THE STROKES-IS THIS IT?
12.PJ HARVEY-IS THIS DESIRE
13.THE CLASH-LONDON CALLING
14.RADIOHEAD-AMNESIAC
15.ELBOW-CAST OF THOUSANDS
16.SMASHING PUMPKINS-MELLON COLLIE & THE INFINITE SADNESS
17.COLDPLAY-PARACHUTES
18.FLAMING LIPS-YOSHIMI BATTLES THE PINK ROBOTS
19.PJ HARVEY-STORIES FROM THE CITY, STORIES FROM THE SEA
20.REM-GREEN
21.AIR-MOON SAFARI
22.WHITE STRIPES-WHITE BLOOD CELLS
23.SPIRITUALIZED-LADIES & GENTLEMAN WE'RE FLOATING IN SPACE
24.SUPER FURRY ANIMALS-PHANTOM POWER
25.KATE BUSH-HOUNDS OF LOVE

1. Suddenly going to the "theatre" to see Romanov dynasty plays and Mongolian throat singers. Thats your typical yuppy.
2. Are they wearing a suit everyday to work?..looks like a yuppy then
3.Do they like Coldplay, David Gray, Travis, Dido and numerous other inoffensive plain acts?, smells like yuppies
4.Woven kitsch tartan handkerchiefs can be seen folded nicely in their top pocket during meal times.
5.They own satchels/handbags (usually black) by the "in-name" of the moment and carry it with them everywhere including supermarkets and bed.

Countdown to school begins......
Hola, had a lovely break at the caravan at the weekend. Just chilled a bit and relaxed surrounded by beautiful scenery. We went into Llandudno on the Saturday and bought "The Autograph Man" by Zadie Smith which seems interesting so far, and also "Espedair Street" by Iain Smith which I'm yet to read but looks just as interesting.
I'm back to school next Thursday so I'm making the most of my last week off which includes a lot of reading, listening to Radiohead, Elbow and the Super Furry Animals, watching TV, drinking and playing Sim City 4, although I've got to do a practice UCAS form for when I go back. I'm actually looking forward to it in some ways cos I'll get to see everyone again and as much as I hate saying it, school is interesting, it keeps you occupied, and without Economics this year, which i dropped, it should be better.
Well I'm off to watch some of the US Open and play some Sim City 4 which is almost as addicitve as Champ Man 4. L8r.

Off to the land of Creemed Sheep!
Hello all, just posting before I'm off to my family's caravan for the bank holiday. I haven't been there for a few months so it'll make a nice change. It's a lovely little place in the small North Wales town, Byrnrefail which is only a mile or two from Llanberis and Snowdon. This is one of thel ovely photos taken just a couple of minutes way in Brynrefail.

I've been looking out for a decent book to buy aswell today but I haven't been bothered to go into town to get one. I was looking at "The lovely bones" by Alice Sebold which seems very popular and also "Dead Air" by Ian Clarke. There was another one which looked interesting called "Youth" but silly me's forgotten who the author was. I mainly seem to enjoy fictional books so If anyone's got any suggestions, they're most welcome. Adios.

P.S I've just noticed the cunning way that there are now adverts for "Barcelona" at the top of this page after I mentioned it in a previous post. Lets try a different one. Madrid. Madrid. Madrid. Madrid.!

Hello Again, sorry I haven't been able to post over the last few days. I wish I could say I was busy but its more a case of "I'm a lazy bastard".
Plus I finally got my AS level results a couple of days ago after they were posted out to me (I was away the day the results were issued). I'm pretty happy with them, a D in economics was what I was expecting considering the teacher has no control of the class and nothing ever gets taught, B's in Politics and Geography which I was definitely happy with, I had always considered Politics fairly interesting yet difficult but its the best mark I got and finally a C in History, but its only a measly single mark off a B so I should correct that at A2 level. Overall that enables me to do the Politics & Modern History course I wish to do at Liverpool Uni next year as long as I maintain that standard.
Anyway, since then I suppose I've just been pondering in relaxation mode the last couple of days, chilling out, taking a few walks and stuff. I also appear to be developing a keen interest in photography. I've only got a little Canon APS at the moment but I've been window shopping for some lovely digital machines in town of late so I've started saving. I've still not dedicated myself to a particular camera but there are a few beauts I've noticed which seem worthy of my attention, particularly the Olympus C-740 and 720.
Finally I have to reccomend a lovely record I picked up yesterday by Elbow called "Cast of Thousands". It manages to sound like a more advanced Coldplay album but with more variety, and its growing on me quite a bit. It more than made up for the slightly disappoiting "Go To Sleep" b-sides,
and by the way, if anyones seen any new and interesting TV programmes that I mightn't have heard of lately please inform me beacuse apart from Friday nights on Channel 4 it appears to be a load of rubbish at the moment. It may just be my opinion but I have no interest in "Siamese Survivors" or more ridiculous "Fame Academy". Cheers.

Hollylollylolol!!!&^%day
Yes I haven't posted here for nearly a couple of weeks now, why? you might add, well those that take notice will realise I have been on holiday to Spain!
So lets inform you all of the best and bad bits...well the first bad bit was a 26hr journey by coach to Salou in the Cost Dorada. Cos my mother is terrified to fly this was the only viable option. Nothing but a few records to keep me entertained the whole journey...oh and a repeat of the mildly interesting "Lost in Space" to watch on one of those nifty little pull down DVD screens they have on board. So that was the journey and so I stepped off the coach on a Wednesday afternoon to fucking 45 degree Spanish heat which left m virtually unable to do fuck all the whole week. Well there were some good bits like a trip to Barcelona, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It's situated in a fairly small valley and is all squashed into about 100 square kilometres yet it still appears very spacious. It was realy amazing and made me realise how much of a dump Liverpool is in comparison. The Sagrada Familia (one of the works by antonio gaudi) was fantastic, it couldn't be seen until you drove up the street but then towered above anything, and its still not complete until 2032! We were then given plenty of shopping time along the ramblas where i enjoyed a lovely Spanish Omelette, well it would have benn even more lovely had beggars not come up every minute playing accordions in your face untill you payed them (5 cents was given to one before i threatened to do harm the others intensely,....they got the message)
And finally the Nou Camp, one of the most impressive stadia in the world and home of some of the most expensive football shirts in the world. 65 bleedin euros! So i settled for a cheap pennant and a keyring.
I also spent one of our last days at a place called Port Aventura which is supposed to be the Mediteranneans answer to Disneyworld, well it was pretty good anyway. One of the shows involved an annoying Spanish girl however, who wouldn't stop yapping in the most irritating tone possible.
So to the journey back which was to say the least...eventful. Firstly it took about 10 hrs to get out of Spain cos we were caught in them darn forest fires....a nice start....then some lovely severe lightening storms through southern france...fantastic....really it was, beats any other coach jouney ever. It was made easier with a few pints down me though.
So here I am, got back Thursday night, suffered from jetlag all yesterday, and here today. I'll post back when something nearly as interesting happens.

Sunday Bloody Sunday
Well things are just racing ahead now, been pretty busy getting stuff ready for this holiday,Its quite terrible really, there was of course the massive problem of how many cd's would seem acceptable to take and of course which ones, afterall it will be a bloody long coach journey to Northern Spain (appproximately 40 hrs!)so it's best to be well equipped. One of "Kid A", "The Bends" or "OK Computer" is essential of course. "Is This It?" seems a good option, "Stories from the city?"...yup, R.E.M's "Green" should be nice, "Velvet Undeground & Nico" and to cheer me up "Unknown Pleasures". Any other suggestions are welcome.
With that major problem outtathaway the choice of what clothes to take becomes a major obstacle. I decided that plenty of T-Shirts and shorts was the safest option to take plus a thong for the ladies. Anyways...better be off now, there's a dinner to prepare. Adios!

The First Day
Hey folks, I've decided to set up this here blog to keep my self entertained during the Summer months, if you like it then its a bonus, if you don't then its obviously not.
First of all I'm hardly a PC genius so this is gonna be kept clear and simple so all you girls can understand it aswell......hmm, a few lines in and I've offended half the projected audience already.
Well don't worry, I'm only messing.
So today.....what have i been doing today?...hmmm....well not a lot cos I'm getting ready for my holiday in Salou, Spain next week. That generally consisted of getting a bit of sun practice, cos my skin...well...lets just say it don't normally like the sunshine. I've never been anywhere as hot as Spain either so I'm gonna resemble something of a tomato when I come back.
I've also been listening to the new Manics record I picked up yesterday, "Lipstick Traces", tis pretty good. "Forever Delayed", "Judge Yourself" are my personal faves. Thre's some nice covers in there aswell, I think there's a couple by the Clash, Nirvana's "Been a Son" and a nice version of "Raindrops keep falling on my head" but its a fans only affair really.
To show just how boring today has been I can tell you that England played pretty shite in their test match with S.Africa. Anway...I think thats enough for now. Cya folks...if there's anyone actually reading this.
Alex.
