About

Sergeant First Class Brandon R. Rubow was born in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. After graduating from Robbinsdale Cooper High School in New Hope, he attended Brown College in Mendota Heights, earning a Certificate in Radio/Television Broadcasting - graduating with distinction. He entered active duty on 23 May 2005, attending Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Bliss, Texas where he was trained as a Motor Transport Operator. He transferred to the Army Reserve in July 2013, and subsequently completed reclassification training as a Human Resources Specialist.

Assignments

SFC Rubow is currently assigned in the Army Reserve as an NCO Professional Development Instructor, 5th BN, 100 Regiment, 94th Training Division, Homewood, Illinois. His previous USAR assignment was as a Postal Supervisor, 847th Human Resources Company, 457th Transportation Battalion, 103d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Fort Snelling, Minnesota. His active duty assignments included Squad Leader and Training/Schools NCO, 497th Transportation Company, 57th Transportation Battalion, 593d Sustainment Brigade, Ft. Lewis, Washington; Senior Driver/Operations NCO, Distinguished Visitor Support Element, US Africa Command, Stuttgart, Germany; and Team Leader, 233d Transportation Company (Combat HET), 87th CSSB, 3d Sustainment Brigade, Ft. Stewart, Georgia.

Deployments

SFC Rubow was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from mid-2006 to mid-2007, where his contributions to the unit helped them earn the US Army Deployment Excellence Award (Small-Unit, Active Duty category, 2008), the Army Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Navy Unit Commendation. Most recently, he was deployed to Kuwait in 2011 in support of Operation New Dawn.

Personal

SFC Rubow currently holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from American Military University, employed on the civilian side as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service and is an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church. He is married to the former Ms. Devora Dodds and has one son, Caleb. His hobbies include music and history.
