The Story of the "Century Ride Home"

On June 29, 2001, eighteen dedicated motorcycle riders set out on a coast to coast cross country journey to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Indian Motorcycle, and raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The historic journey started at the California Speedway and would end in Springfield, Massachusetts, the original home of Indian Motocycle.
"The Century Ride Home" would take the bikers (many on vintage Indians) and their support team some 4000 miles on America's most scenic highways, including Route 66.
Stops along the way include tours of some of the world's best Indian exhibits including the National Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in Pickerington, Ohio and the "Wheels Through Time Museum" in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
After two weeks of fighting 126 degree desert heat, rain, and breakdowns, the group, now numbering more than 300, and led by police escort, would cross the Memorial Bridge into Springfield, Massachusetts, home of Indian Motocycle from 1901-1953.
Anyone who appreciates the story of Indian Motorcycle will want this 100th Anniversary Indian Motocycle video for their collection.
