The Academic Associates Reading Program is a highly successful phonics program. What is phonics? Letters are symbols that stand for sounds. Phonics is a proven method of teaching persons to read or enunciate by learning the usual sounds of certain letters or groups of letters. The Academic Associates Reading Program includes five essential elements that ensure reading success:

1. Decode (read) the word
2. Understand written word (vocabulary)
3. Evaluate what is read
4. Retain relevant information
5. Read with fluency

All five of the above components must function efficiently for effective reading to take place. At our learning center, the Academic Associates Reading Program addresses the five components of reading. This one-on-one teacher/student reading program works for children, teenagers, and adults alike. At the end of the program, the student receives a certificate at completion.
