Josh Metivier's Poetry
Let us now give praise!
to the make-up faces...
that make up this bucktooth phenomenon,
with giant pink braces.
Allow these daffy lipped grins and giggles
to escape the wrinkled skin gates
and make it to the big screen.
Just in time for violent coffee
my favorite rubber flavored pastries
get stuck in the crevices of your teeth,
and when you smile, when I breathe,
it’s you looking loopy,
not me...
but hey...
I’m just out here try’n to love everyone.
with a straight face.

		4:36 a.m
Dark ocean blue, that moves above’s the hue.
		a faded orange, pasted trim
Lying below, and within the dark blue rim.
Clean and clear, like a Christian’s view.
The jewels of night, dancing satellites , still shining bright...
dew glistening excitement upon the grass.
Fresh, new life, un-ridden with strife,
		the sun is rising fast.
sitting outside, this symphony rises to life.
		the appreciators awed.
the sun, casting rays of orange shades, so lush...
		that IS the morning rush...
