Since the late 90's The Pro Wrestling Lockerroom has stood as a major source of coverage of the Michigan Independent Wrestling community. In 2001 the decision was made to establish a championship to represent the popular show and in November of that year current TNA star and former X-Division Champion "The Future" Chris Sabin, who was a promising rookie at the time, defeated Michigan veteran Rico Rodriguez to become the first PWL Television Champion. Since that time the championship has been held and challenged by not only some of the most recognizable names in Michigan but some of the biggest names in professional wrestling today. The title is unique due to the fact that it is not exclusive to one promotion but instead is defended regularly on many shows throughout Michigan. Below is the official and (almost) complete PWL Television Title history as recognized by the Pro Wrestling Lockerroom
