Well this is just a little to tell you about the wonderful world of Prosody, aka James Newton, me! It won't be very long, or even particularly funny, but I've got to fill my site out somehow!

One day, many many moons ago, I decided to form a band, as it seemed like the done thing to do and I was starting to take music seriously. So I found a group of like-minded mates, who I'll show to you in a minute, and we formed a group. The band was basically a mish-mash of different tastes, which I always thought would be good because you get different styles and influences and come out with a unique sound. However that only works if you can actually agree on something. Even one thing.

Everyone wanted different songs, different positions [my bassist and I had a long argument about who was actually going to lead the vocals], different image. In the end America Shanks called it a day... after two days together as a band.

After the harrowing split I started to ply my case to the other bands in the area, vainly hoping that one of them would have a space for an indie/rock-loving keyboardist. Not a thing. Everyone was doing either punk or nu-metal, two genres not particularly recognised as being keyboard-orientated. So I had to wait. But I found someone who appreciated my unique "ability".

Hannah.

Now this isn't the right page to write all about Hannah and how wonderful she is to me but so far she's been nothing but supportive, nice, lovely and just all-round perfect to me. She was the first person I ever actually sang to, down the phone, not perfect but still nerve-wracking. When she came to stay at mine I put a concert on with my mate [hey Jim!] and that's where this photo and this photo are from. It was hardly a packed-out event, as half the expected guests failed to turn up, and these photos were taken after the actual concert but it's a testament to the finest gig of all time!

Since then I've been put in charge of composing a soundtrack to Shining Online. It's the first real music I've composed and I'm very proud of it, you can hear for yourself by going to the "music" section [subtle plug].

Now I've forgotten what I'm supposed to be writing... oh yeah it's my history! Well I got a spot playing the intro to East-17's "Stay Another Day" with Rob's punk band The Upskirts [they're not bad] so this could be the start of something big! I also named myself Prosody and I'm starting to model myself on Danny McNamara from Embrace - who else? I wrote a bit of a song, what else? Just lots of stuff going off - no-one knows I exist of course and they never will but this is more for me than for anyone else!

That's all I think, now I've got to figure out how to link to things... hmmmm...
