About the pictures: Neither are exactly what I look like now but I really haven't changing my appearance dramatically. My hair is a bit shorter now with some bangs and I'm fatter now.

I'm not a film major yet but - if everything goes well - I hope to be soon. When I started school here I was planning on being an art history major but I found it to be a little bit too boring. I was depressed about that, along with other personal things, so I took a year off and thought about what I really wanted to do with my life. I'm taking this class partially because of requirement but also because I'm interested. I don't know a lot about this era of film so I'm looking at this as a good opportunity to learn something new.

I grew up in a suburb of Seattle, Washington and moved to Park City before my sophomore year of high school. There I was introduced to the Sundance Film Festival and independent film in general and pretty much became obsessed with it.

It's a daunting task to name my favorite films because so many are special or important to me for many different reasons. I can list some of my favorite directors: Zhang Yimou, Takashi Miike, Quentin Tarantino, Joel Coen. As far as genres go I like horror, especially Asian horror films. I like independent films of various genres. I like to hunt down hard-to-find films from Japan, China, and occasionally Korea. I'm a big geek so I like big fantasy & science fiction "blockbusters" like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. Other than that I'm open to any genre, but I like to see character development in films I watch.

My hobbies other than obsessing over films include music, graphic design, web design, blogging, and my TV shows, especially "Lost".
