Well, I meant more like if you're fighting an enemy, one on one, and you block, can they go under/over/around the shield ?

So if you're blocking high, they might could go for a leg attack and get around the shield (depending on the size, etc).

Or does your shield seem to "block" your entire front body direction period by just holding it up to block?
*

To continue from the last thread...

the blocking is a full frontal block. However, you can still be attacked from a different direction. They can't go under your shield or anything.

And in case you missed the FULL PREVIEW here are the other two threads:

Thread 2:
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=173859

The original:
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=173834

I recommend reading them so you don't ask the same questions.

And in case you missed my Xbox 360 preview with all the other games, here's the link for that:

http://www.gamespot.com/forums/show_msgs.p...pic_id=23856490

And check out my new avatar. I made it myself. Although I have to admit that the game isn't quite as bloody as my avatar.

Oh wow! Thanks for the preview! I'm at school and it made the lesson go pretty fast.

There's some things that I didn't know much about there and this just made me want the game even more. Thanks again! :)

I would like to ask something but I don't know what to ask :/

was there ever any times that you thought the physics were a bit out, or when something you did just didn't seem right?

Does hair bounce or move when a character moves? I know this was something some people were wondering.

Also, how fast is the starting runspeed? Is it an agonizingly slow or surprisingly fast?

Nachokoolaid, thanks for writing the (very interesting) preview. :) Thanks also for answering all the questions despite some of the comments in the initial thread.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked (I don't recall seeeing it in the other threads) but how was the sound and music?

Ive got a question for Ghost Reaver, why is your avatar/picture so freaky? Its gonna give me nightmares. Did you sever that child's head yourself?

Oh, and thanks for the preview.

your character is shown in 3d to the right of the menus. its a fairly good sized representation. I think the menus are sexy.

Ah, so is it more like a start menu now? Like when you press a key does that picture we've seen a few times of the character with the dwemer (adjusted for your armor of course) come up along with the menus?

Not really. The physics actually seemed pretty solid throughout.

Qarl says that there's no paperdoll : you equip your character directly.

I answered this already, but hair doesn't seem to react too much. Some of the longer hair might react some, but it's not highly dynamic or anything.

And I think the fact that I didn't notice that the run speed was too fast or slow probably means it's just about right. It felt realistic.

Most people are satisfied with the menus I think. I think they're pretty good, and streamlined. What I mean is that the tabs can easily be navigated using the triggers and d-pad.

And I'm sorry, but I don't even know what you mean by paperdoll.

I think I have a pretty good idea of what they look like. A paperdoll is just a small representation of your character that appears in the menu screen.

Did you get a chance to talk to people? If so, how was the dialogue system? How'd it work?

The only person I talked to was the Emperor. It was a little better than in the vid (where there was only one option everytime). There were a couple of options each time. And once you asked something, it went away (although I think with characters other than the Emperor, that dialogue will just change color, and not go away all together).

Well guys, I've been on here posting answers in three threads for about seven hours (on Gamespot too, although they aren't quite as enthused as you guys). I'm glad to help, but I'm about to pass out. I'll check back tomorrow for any other inquiries. Good night all.

Another question... Was it possible to costumize the body models for the player? or were they even showing in the buildingmode? was there different bodytypes? any length sliders? muscle or fat sliders? or was there simply just one bodymodel? ... that was more then one question I think =)

edit: missed above post =).. good night & thanks...

I believe they've said you can't customize the body type. Would cause some issues with armor clipping etc.
