Faith

"is that the wind i hear? it's calling out my name;
is it laughing, laughing, at me?"

the softest silk of nights long past just cuts me up inside
simplicity made promises that we found out were lies
gaping yawns which find no relief chasmatically chew
around and through my inwardside parts...
an old friend shakes my hand tonight
i feel his grip sharply in my chest
every time you creep into my neon daydream

knock-knock-knock...
(i opened up the door)
knock-knock-knock...
(what was i looking for?)
knock-knock-knock...
(i tore down all the gates)
knock-knock-knock...
(faith is a mistake)

there is a machine recycling my screams i stop myself
before they can rip out of my shredded ransom throat
i know they are meaningless, pointless, and can never halt
this eternal parade of mind-rape, scrapes,
and laced-up snakes that you've tied to my toes

knock-knock-knock...
(i opened up the door)
knock-knock-knock...
(what was i looking for?)
knock-knock-knock...
(i tore down all the gates)
knock-knock-knock...
(faith is a mistake)

"put your trust not in mortals, for in them is no help"

FAITH IS A MISTAKE
