thursday july 22 2004 – 3pm
i heard some interesting news. for those of us looking foward to the johnny depp remake of willy wonka and the chocolate factory , we'll have to hold on a lil longer than expected now. apparently they accidentally dropped a $ .5 million dollar camera into a large pool of chocolate. the schedule has thus been pushed back, how far is unknown at the moment. also, for any julia roberts fans...she'll be retiring from hollywood for 5 years (til age 42), abouts. she's expecting twins and wants to take off time to be a mother. so if you don't see her around for awhile, that's why. perfectly understandable. and have you heard about britney spears? she's now a step-mother of 2. i don't know much longer this one can last...it all seems so fake.
and now for a quote of the day...lemme set up a lil scene for you. have you ever had so much coffee to drink in a day, that your pee smells like coffee? and it's even warm like coffee? someone (who will remain nameless for privacy's sake) who doesn't drink coffee a lot was a bit alarmed when this happened. when talking about her peeing experience, "it's like steaming coffee!"

new poll, that is all. ;)

sunday july 18 2004 – 1am
you can always rely on your bf's (yes i made that ambiguous on purpose) to make you feel better, and without them really trying. well, at least i can-- because i have the best in the world :D danke mein prinz! so...trying to pick up to normal speed i found this mini quiz that i had to try. it supposedly tells you which nemo character you are. What Finding Nemo Character are You? brought to you by Quizilla
that's what it told me...am i? i wasn't so sure, but oh well! nemo! (jason ;) )
i'd like to close out now with a favorite quote..."it's a known fact that lobsters fall in love and mate for life. you know, you can actually see old lobster couples walkin' around their tank, ya know, holding claws..."~phoebe :D

sunday july 18 2004 – 5:15pm
you ever have one of those days where you're just like, well crap...what's wrong with me? i woke up for church feeling normal, but then somewhere it just kinda all went downhill. the dogs stayed away from me. it really kicked in at lunch. i met my parents at the olive garden after church (since we go to seperate ones), and i was just a big ole bugger. i felt so cranky and then i got upset with myself that i was being that way, so i was double unhappy. i was even supposed to go to the gavin degraw concert tonight, but i was definitely not in the mood for that. i'd still have to buy my ticket there, which as i know from rooney was not an easy task, plus it would be $2 more for at the door, plus my minor surcharge, plus more $ for having to drive since the metro is unreliable. i don't know who the other people are going to be, and i really don't feel like going just to hear gavin 3 hours after getting there just for a spot. mississippi nights is probably one of the worst venues i've ever been to. it's always cold, too loud and too smokey. i usually feel some sorta sick after leaving. yay, more fun...my day is just not spectacular. i crashed and had some weird jessica simpson dream, and that was fun, but then i woke up. i just don't know what to do, b/c i don't feel like doin much...=/

tuesday july 13 2004 – 1am
have you ever had those friends who you really like to be with, but a whole day is a lot to handle sometimes, and all you want to do is leave and go home? i had some friends like that when i was younger...is that just a kid phase, or does it mean that they just weren't really good friends if they got on your nerves that easily? i'm not sure which it was in my case, b/c i don't seem to encounter that problem at all anymore. when i see laura and tiffany i have so much fun it's awesome. and i never want to leave jason's side. it's kinda the opposite "problem" with him...no matter what it is or how long we've been around each other that day, i don't want to leave him. i just like being around him...don't even have to be doing anything with him per se...just being there. it's nice...huhhh(that's an exhale btw) ;) yes, i'm a girl--deal with it. i've learned to.
now, if i may direct your attention to the bottom of the page...i added another poll. i have heard so much about cingular wireless and how much they entirely suck. now i want to hear what you think. i personally, am counting the days until october when my contract runs out...thank god. hello t-mobile! anyways...the poll slots were tiny, so lemme explain a lil (yes i'm aware of the 2 typos...just too lazy to fix them). 1)vote more than once if more than one answer applies. 2)replies are a- you've heard bad things said about them, indirectly b- you yourself know what crap they are c-know people who try to persuade you to stay away, for the love of god stay away! d- you're stupid or e- haven't opened your ears all the way and are completely ignorant and oblivious to the crack-scheme that is cingular wireless. i will hold my opinions for the polls, thank you and good night.

monday july 12 2004 – 1:30am
ok, so i went to see anchorman saturday with jason, laura and joe. i thought this was going to be a good movie, just based on will ferrell. i had no idea that paul rudd, luke wilson, ben stiller, jack black, vince vaughan, etc would be in it. i admit most of it was funny, but it wasn't the "funny" i thought it would be. it didn't seem to carry well now that i think about it. instead of a movie being funny, it seemed like a lot of funnies strung together to be a movie. and let me just say, even tho they tried to "correct" the "animal abuse" in the movie, i was not pleased. i cried, ok? that's not good. it made me mad that i cried. sure, i could tell it was a stuffed animal, but still, what makes abuse funny people? i couldn't laugh for prolly 10 minutes after the "incident". so, that's how i feel. at the movie theater tho i did hear some funny stuff, thanks to the weird "high" (whatever that was) laura and joe were on. joke #1: what do you get when you mix a waffle with the beach? san diego! ;) joke #2(which took 2 years, it seemed, to be told properly...making it funnier and more confusing for us as an audience): if 8=a, and 9=b, then what is 10? tennessee! (10 is c) yuk yuk! no actually, the funniest part of that joke was hearing joe try to tell it ;) and now for the quote of the day, provided by joe, of course..."laura, did you take a picture of sars?" (he was referring to the sears on zumbehl, whose e light has been burnt out for quite a while now)
also went swimming for the first time this year, this weekend. once at sarah's apartment (it has a v. pretty waterfall) and then at jason's. it was fun, and different. i haven't been swimming in a pool, with friends, not on vacation, in a couple of years. but i think it was absolutely necessary ;) i mean, c'mon. it's 5pm, and the pool is shaded and we were there for over an hour...i think it was a lil warm out...i'm not quite sure what the kiddies were saying to their moms, but i heard one mom say..."leave them alone-- when you get a man someday, you'll understand"...that's right, you heard it. jason's the man-- oh,oh, sorry--my man ;)
hopefully i start work this week! :)
ps--jasmine and sheba miss you sarah

wednesday july 7 2004 – 4pm
last night i got to see rooney again at mississippi nights, and they were just as good as before. we got in first, thanks to laura's friend airika, so we got good "seats". beatle bob was there-- he intro-ed the first group, the red walls. they were cool. they sounded like the new beatles, like their kids or something. they're from chicago.
next was ozma. i guess they were ok, but their sound was a lil too "hard" for me, and loud too. i mean really. my ears hurt. the dude in the orange mae shirt tho was awesome, dancin around like a crazy guy. the lead singer reminded me of the lead singer in eve 6. he got really sweaty during the show. i thought he had a spitting problem, but it was just sweat dripping off his chin constantly, leaving his shirt all wet. and the drummer was odd. i can really get into music when the drummer is cool. in the red walls, the drummer had a fun curly fro, so to speak, and he was rockin out too, so it makes it fun to watch. i like rooney's drummer, ned, too for this reason (among others). they shake their curls ferociously, it's awesome. but ozma's drummer was not the same. he reminds me of silent bob, now that i think of it. he was a fat dude, with long frizzy hair and sunglasses. plus he had a ciggerette in his mouth the whole time too. just sittin there, hittin the drums casually.
after ozma was straylight run. i only know this because i just looked it up on mississippi night's website. they were bad. i got bored before the first song was over. they had too many sounds they were trying to blend together, and they didn't, so it just kinda went "blaaahhh". they were pretty boring people too. so if you're into crappy music, watch for their album this september...
ROONEY! rooney was supercool as always. robert (lead singer) was havin fun with the crowd, taylor (lead guitarist) did his job well. i'm more of a drum freak than guitar, but i know skills when i hear them. he's got some talent for being the 19 or 20 yr. old he is. ned's (the drummer, who's drums were pretty btw ;) ) hair was as floppy as last time ;) he even wore the same shirt as he did at the last concert. now that's humbling to know. most famous peeps i bet stop wearing their clothes after just a few times. ned really got pumped up by the cheering too. :) it was a great show...unfortunately i was feeling not so good after all the smoke inhalation. but good news! rooney is going back to record their new album in 2 months!
i was lookin up other music online earlier, and watched counting crows music video for 'accidentally in love'. the song is featured in shrek 2. i thought the video was cool...the guy was kinda funny and the rabbit was cute, singing. but then at the end i didn't like it so much, and i'm not sure i really get it either...lemme know if you do. later gators

monday july 5 2004 – 5pm
and so the decline of the neighborhood begins. we've all noticed that the "young" generation are a bunch of jerks, pricks and snooty falooties. i have a constant reminder, daily. not only do we have our white trash creeps at the end of the street in their lil shack, but now the girl next door is a big 14 yr old hoochie mama. she has friends over all the time-- including boys who can mysteriously reach the gas pedal...they also park in front of our house, why is this? today they decided to park on the other side of our yard at the end of the street. totally all our property. they decided to shoot off fireworks into our yard and the people's driveway across the street. my dad kicked them out ;) go dad! i was about ready to to kick some major lil booties. ( now playing "how many people wanna kick some a**?" - stroke 9) they left 10 minutes later with no where to go. i'm not against fireworks, although they are illegal here, but when you're doing them improperly and showing no respect for those around you...that's when i show no mercy. after we came home from the downtown fireworks last night, there was a large group of people in the middle of the street, 2 houses down and across, setting them off. they were slow to move themselves, leaving their crap all over the street for me to try and drive around. trying to avoid popping my tires, a girl yelled at me like i was trying to kill her, driving 2mph. then the white trash were apparently in the car behind me, on my butt b/c i was driving "slow". and when i pulled into the driveway, they peeled down the remaining 20 ft of street to their shanty. i was not feeling nice. got inside, called of the party and called the cops on their butts. what doesn't make sense again, is why there were that many people there. one man lives in that house alone. he's never there. suddenly there's a party..? and this all happens within like a 2 yr period. everything was good up until then. =/
but, in blog news, i've updated the word up-- look for lots of news quotes and stuff each time you come! :)

sunday! sunday! sunday! july 4th 2004 – 2pm
seems as tho i don't quite get in to the "holiday spirit" until i go to the parade. since bridgeton is slowly depleting due to lambert construction, the parade is becoming much shorter and less enthusiastic...but hey, it goes through our frickin neighborhood now-- how am i not gonna walk 3 streets down to see it (cuz i can definitely hear it)? it's fun tho, sheba (one of my beautimous dogs) likes it :) and if that doesn't get you in the spirit...i always have the white trash neighbors who just drove their van up the street blaring the horn...
in other non-4th news...i helped sarah move in her major stuff into her new apartment yesterday. that girl does not own one thing that is clean. dust and allergies everywhere. i was the official cleaning sponser of moving day. i did not let her take anything into her new white apartment until it had been cleaned and ok-ed by me.
listened to the jet cd, it's superb. makes me wanna bounce around :) i think they sound like a mix of rooney, phantom planet and aerosmith. they're gooood. ;)
speaking of music, tiffany, i heard/read (don't remember which one) that BSB is coming out with a new cd this fall, and they're already planning a tour. aj said this is the first album he's done sober...
i would also like to retract a statement i made earlier about the notebook. i would actually like to see it again now, or at least the first 2/3 or so, just until "the notebook story" is over with, right before the really sad stuff starts. i'm such a sap...
oh! i tried this jones naturals soda, bananaberry. it was really good. and it had a cute story on the label which i must now share... ;)
"once upon a time, in place far away, a banana fell in love with a beautiful berry princess. being young and hot for one another, the two got married and soon started having little bananaberry babies. we recently stumbled upon these delicious little fruits and decided that the time was right to create a new drink in homage to the "fruits of thier labors"...be eccentric. get it on with the little guy...create some change." ...ah inspiration...i'm in the mood for some strawberry shortcake...
god bless america, and god bless the world

thursday, july 1 2004 – 10:15pm
ok folks, step right up. tiffany got her pics developed and sent them to me. i've posted the non-incriminating ones (tiffany ;) ) on yahoo again. check 'em out. the folder is "tiffany's visit". have fun as always.

thursday, july 1 2004 – 7:15pm
there was one pleasant surprise at the end of spiderman. michael buble sang the theme from spiderman. it was really cool. so i went to check out the soundtrack (i have the first one), and it's not there! on the up side, maroon5, jet and hoobastank have spots on it. oh, and there's a really cool asian lady in the movie that sings songs too ;) they never put the cool stuff on the cds...=/

thursday, july 1 2004 – 3pm
saw spiderman 2 on wednesday, opening night. thought we might be able to avoid some crowd by going to a later show at mills...yeah, that didn't really happen. luckily we still got decent seats. i really liked it. i wish i could say what i liked about it, but that involves specifics. i liked the humor they use. that's about all i can say about that. when i went to bed last night, i had a dream that jason was spiderman...hehe...suit and all ;)
another new food i've tried and liked-- cheez-it twisterz. very different but good. i'm not sure i can eat a lot of these tho. the cheese is kinda powdery.
in other news, helped sarah with the beginning of the moving in process. she's movin to creve coeur, at lindbergh and olive. it's a very nice place...albeit very cold when we got there. but very nice, and clean, and white. she's got a nice size patio too. i like that. she'll finish up movin this weekend i think.
sarah sent me a link to a fun 4th of july thinger. you might have gotten it already by circulation, but if not look here. you can make your own fireworks display. have fun! happy 4th!

monday, june 28 2004 – 1:15am
went ahead and changed that color on the "me" page (tiffany ;) )...lemme know what you think. i think it's less harsh than the aqua green color that was up b4.

monday, june 28 2004 – 12:30am
i put up pics on my yahoo briefcase—link at the bottom. i also thought the page was getting a lil long, so i made an archive(s) page. i also liked the way jason's entries had the newest on top, so i changed that as well, on all entry pages. hope that makes it easier—but don't neglect the polls! i might get to the color change of the "me" page soon…

sunday, june 27 2004 -- 1am
"it was the best of times-- it was the worst of times". oh my god. i just got back from seeing the notebook, and thought i would share what just happened. that movie had such an affect, on everyone in the theater. holy crap, i felt like a fool. it was one of the greatest stories i've heard in a long time, and i absolutely hated it. i'm never watching that film again...
you see, i do get teary eyed occasionally when i watch a movie; i get the lumps in my throat sometimes, sure. i'm only (a female) human. but seriously, i can contain my emotions well when i want to (you can't even tell i had cried). except tonight. i might have been able to do it, had i not been in the theater i was in. jason, i'm glad you didn't come, and i think you would be too...
i had asked jason if he wanted to see this movie, because my sister, sarah, and i really wanted to...i wasn't certain if this was a girl movie or if it had appeal to guys too. well, the theater was packs of girls, all ages. only a handful of guys there (looked like husbands). i thought this to be amusing. previews started, definitely all girl movies. a couple of times thru the movie i tried to do a quick evaluation of whether i thought it to be acceptable to both genders. i had to quit tho at the end. if you want my opinion-- total girl movie. however, depending on the male, i think the story can be just as touching and appreciated. heck, the book it was based on was written by a guy (nicholas sparks-- the walk to remember guy). but like i said, i'm glad jason didn't come.
jason is one of the most sensitive guys i know, and i think he would like the movie. but the reason i say i'm glad he didn't come has to do with me, and maybe sarah for that matter, dunno. you see, movie low down--an older guy spends his day reading this 40s love story to a woman with a bad memory in a nursing facility of somesort. so, most of the movie is the 40s story, but the last 1/4 of it or so is about the old people. it gets really sad people. you'd hear a few sniffles during the movie, but at the end it got more prominant. when the credits rolled, so did everyone's emotions. omg. girls crying, trying to stop with embarassment. about a minute after we all realize how sad and humorous this is and start to laugh. here i am, trying to contain myself, trying to wrap up the tears and snorting with laughter. god, what a sight. but, i will have you know that sarah and i did hear some manly sniffles too. i gotta give the movie and extra star just for having that kind of effect on so many people. i say see it, but i will not join you...;)

saturday, june 26 2004 -- 9pm
coca-cola c2 is awesome. i got a bottle to try and it almost entirely tastes the same. me being a coke connoisseur, i can detect the small difference, but i am still highly satisfied. if it wasn't more expensive i would switch over. this stuff has half the sugar, and therefore half the carbs and calories. and because i like to drink my coke often, it's in my favor. plus, as of now i have almost downed a 20oz bottle and am not nearly as full and uncomfortable (tummy wise) as i would be if i had had a regular coke. so my opinion is to try it. i hope they keep it around.
i also got some new pics to share, which will prolly end up in my yahoo briefcase and not on a page here, but stay tuned jic(just in case). laters gators.

saturday, june 26 2004 -- 12pm
added a link to my yahoo briefcase for various media files i might have up and running to share. i think they still work. give me a holla if they don't. i've got zoo videos up and a great condom commercial, etc. enjoy, as always ;)

thursday, june 24 2004 -- 7pm
i'm a cardinals fan. i love 'em. but i had never experienced a night like last night, ever. it was my first cardinals/cubs game. and man, was it entertaining. drunkards all around. "cardinals in a tree!"~laura. this is the ultimate cardinals baseball expereince, after a series championship game that is. i advice everyone to take in one of these games some time in their life...DO IT!
so, i'm really into the whole entertainment/movie/tv scene. i like to keep tabs on what's goin on, and what's comin up. i found out some really interesting stuff today, to me anyway...so now i'll do the polite thing and share ;), cuz i know you all want to know...
ok, first-- miss tiffany. calm down. i have news for you ;) wonderwoman is coming out on dvd june 29th...she's climbing the ranks...;)...please don't kill me...
in other super hero news~ the newest, and youngest batman, will be played by christian bale, 30 (the american pyscho). they're filming it right now in london, baby!
as most people know now, monica of friends had her baby. she named the girl coco. this is a no-no. i mean coco, hello? that's a poodle's name, am i right? my guess is it was a nickname of her's (COurtney COx)...just a theory. tell me what you think in the polls.
some famous celeb has his own blog where he talks about the hollywood life and whatnot. interesting to look at. rumored to be jim carrey, owen Wilson or ben afflack--sorry, afleck (he's my guess). have a gander if you're bored....there's a new card out for kids under 17-- the "r" movie card. it's got it's start in illinois and michigan. kids underage can get this card through parent's permission, to see R films without a guardian. sure some kids are mature enough, me and my sister were. but almost all teenagers are so rowdy now, i vote no to this idea. left up to me, they'd just have to wait a few more years, or have their older sibling buy the ticket for them, like i did...
movies to look for: ocean's 12, phantom of the opera and HEY! HEY! HEY! it's fat albert, all in december...johnny depp as willy wonka is also filming in london...will ferrell will play darrin in the bewitched movie (based on the tc show), and also do the voice of the man in the yellow hat for the curious george movie...heath ledger and jake gyllenhaal will star in a gay cowboy love story called brokeback mountain-- (i'm intrigued...no, seriously, i am...) also starring randy quaid, michelle williams and michelle hatheway...one more thing i'm excited about-- undeclared on dvd soon. it was a show on fox about a group of college kids that got yanked after 17 episodes-- i was mad. it was like freaks and geeks for the college crew. now it's back, kinda. :)
oh yeah, jason. the artist in supersize me (which is a movie everyone should see)...is ron english, 43. his art work completes the film. apparently all big companies pretty much, except mcdonald's, have sued him for his portrayals. you have to see them. they're great.
geez, i feel like a gossip columnist. that's all for awhile, i promise. :)

wednesday, june 23 2004 -- 12am
i would like to note as i said before, the guestbook is not really a guestbook. i like to think of it more as a feedback/commentary place. tiffany has taken the opportunity to share her thoughts there on the spiderman/batman situation. it was meant to be a "battle of --" question...sorry for any disappointment for those other favs left off the board. get your "star" a movie, then we'll talk about getting them a poll. ;)
i added yet another page tonight, experimenting with colors, sorry if it's too bright in contrast. i'll be getting to the pics soon enuf...so stay tuned to see who makes the all important final cut :)
also on my mind...just got a cd today-- the shins, v. cool, v. cool. i really like the song "so says i"...check them out on amazon.com. oh yes, and i love jason ;) have a nice night...er, day...morning? have a nice life :)

problems at the polls
ok, so it doesn't involve chads...just batman and superman. the poll i had created was running off the results of the first poll i created, with the movies, so the tallies were incorrect. hopefully i've fixed this now, and those that did vote the first time around...please do it again? :) your vote counts and is very important to me! this has been a public service announcement, thank you for your time. ;)

tuesday, june 22 2004 -- 12am
right, so, i noticed i had left out one of my favorite germany quotes amid the excitement of retyping, so it's now there (before the SHREEEMPS!). i've also added 2 new polls as you can see, directly below. i might be adding more quotes soon, depending on how dependent my internet connection is...i've been having problems out the wazoo lately and it's driving me crazy! anywhooo...keep you posted. this is all.

monday, june 21 2004 -- 2am
it's now officially the first day of summer, for those that must be technical. la de da...
i just now got done retyping the second page of quotes that were stolen from me when i went to save them earlier. here i'm sharing everything that i could write down from our missions trip to germany one month ago. a lil heads up, we got delayed like it was no one's biznaz, so we had to go thru stl to chicago to miami to jfk-nyc to london and then to munich. this is why there are quotes from all over. this is all. good night and have a pleasant tomorrow!
|
|
5pm
"hi. i'd like to have a background check done on myself, please." now there's something i never thought i'd say...but i did, today. had to get one done at the police station for my new job (state program). and of course the record is clean, for you curiously deviant minds out there.
in other news, today i added some quirks to the page. the "word-up" section at the top is just a fun phrase to ponder each time you stop by. if you click on it it just takes you to the full list (at the moment) of things that will pop up-- so don't click on it and spoil the fun! i've also added a "guestbook" to put it lamely. say whatever you want-- doesn't have to be about my page (but keep it clean kids ;) ).
|

friday, june 18 2004 -- 2am
ok, so i've started. page 1 of quotes is up. more to come later. enjoy.

pre-log
so it was something like last year when i was convinced that maybe i too wanted a blog, or something like it. i tried to do something with it...but never got around to it really. this time i'm gonna try, but no guarantees. actually, i'm wondering how much i can actually do with this free space they gave me, hence the "awesome" ads everywhere.
i think what i'm going to do with the page is talk. hey, what are blog's for, right? no, but i mean i hear/see some weird/quirky things, so i think i'm gonna try and share those, along with some quotes, maybe pics if space allows...
