Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
First of many great Ghibli films, Nausicaa is set in the future, when most of mankind has been destroyed by a poisonus jungle which continues to spread. The jungle is protected by giant insects, which terrorise the remaining humans. Most of the humans left are captivated by war and starvation as the poison from the jungle takes it's toll, but the people of The Valley of The Wind are protected from this by the winds that blow from the sea...and their princess. Princess Nausicaa isnt your typical tiara-wearing, swooning, airhead princess. She is out to look after and protect her people and will fight to save them. She also has a charming way with animals...even the giant insects. She realises that they are simply scared and do not wish to be driven out of their forest by the humans.

...sounds a little farfetched, i know, but seriously, its a brilliant movie. Beautifully animated, well-dubbed into english and with a thrilling plot...fantastic! ***** five stars

any thoughts or questions on this movie...please leave below. :P
