Excitement filled the airwaves last night, as Abolition Party Presidential nominee at OurCampaigns, Thomas Walker, ran an hour long campaign special on UPN.
Unlike Decembers campaign special on WB, this one had a feel of intense excitement, for pundits believe Walker has a chance of winning the election this time around.
The show featured highlights from Walker's recent rv tour of America, where he visited many Western and Midwestern states. Also featured was the AMTRAK tour taken by statesman Dave Jones, Abolition Party Vice Presidential nominee at OurCampaigns. Walker visited many New England, East Coast and Southern States, and met enthusiastic crowds wherever he went.
Addressed were the voices and concerns of everyday Americans. As Walker stated, "No celebrities or fakes this time. Only what matters, the concerns of each and every person out there. This is a campaign for us all, and we either sink or swim together."
An Easter morning speech in Hendersonville, Tennessee was shown. Dave Jones got the crowd pumped up with his firey oratory, his grasp of the issues, and his uplifting message. Walker, addressing the crowd at the TBN studios in this city just outside of Nashville, at the former Twitty City across the street from The House of Cash, continued the excitement generated by Jones, nearly reaching the same level of intensity and excitement. Walker stressed the need to keep current members active at OurCampaigns, reach out to current members who are inactive to bring them back as lively members of the fold, and the need to gain new members. Walker stressed the need for continued secret ballot elections at OurCampaigns. Walker also stressed the need for a fluid, orderly and easily understandable candidate database at OurCampaigns, and the need to combine multiple listings of the same candidate. Walker stressed the importance of each and every member, the need to vote for the best candidate, regardless of party, and closed by stating that a vote for Walker-Jones is a win for us all.
After a side trip to Rhea County, where the Scopes Trial took place, was shown, the program continued with a later afternoon rally at the State House in Columbus, Ohio.
This was the most excitement to hit Columbus since Ohio State won the national football title 15 months earlier. Walker remarked that it was odd addressing a huge crowd at the same place where he had attended a rally by then President Jerry Ford 28 years earlier. Walker quipped, "I thought I might get the dozen people who went to the Ohio Theatre who saw Ronald Reagan live that day, but this turnout astonishes me!"
After a few more scenes from the rally, one minute commercials were aired which had been produced by each of Walker's five opponents in this contest.
A five minute message by Thomas Walker followed. The show concluded with an uplifting and near-mesmerizing five minute message of hope, inclusion and excitement by Dave Jones.
