OC VP Candidate Dave Jones wows joint session of Maryland State Legislature

Excitement filled the air last night, as an electrifying joint session of Congress was held in Annapolis. The historic occassion was a speech by Dave Jones, the pride of Maryland, and the recent recipient of the Abolition Party's Citizen and Statesman of the Year Award.

Jones, who was nominated for Vice President on the Abolition ticket at Our Campaigns last week, filled the hallowed halls with a challenging message of hope, vision, dreams, integrity, and a new direction. Some parts of this speech follow:

"Thomas Walker and myself pledge to be tireless advocates for the membership of Our Campaigns. It is not Thomas Walker's campaigns, or Dave Jones' campaigns, but OUR campaigns. We must all play a part and be included."

"The stagnation, divisiveness and general indifference when it comes to achieving greatness, which grips our nation and Our Campaigns, is due in large part to the fact of the two party monopoly. We offer an alternative, a voice for the people, as it were. The lesser of two evils is still evil. All of us offer something. We need to pool our strengths together and grow and prosper from our individuality, and not wither and blow away."

"Our coast to coast connection offers the best leadership possible. We empathise with the nation as a whole, and not just one region. Our foreign contingency at Our Campaigns can also rest assured that their interests, hopes and dreams will be best protected, advanced and served by the team of Walker and Jones."

"Only twice in our nations history has a California-Maryland ticket run. In both instances, the team from California-Maryland were victorious."

I would like to thank Sargent Shriver and Alan Keyes for arranging my appearance here tonight."

By working together, we all win. Likewise, a vote for Walker-Jones is a win for us all."

It was also announced that the next day, Thomas Walker would release the next plank of the Abolition Party ticket platform.

After his speech, Republican Party leaders were seen trying to get Dave Jones to run for the U. S. Senate for them; while Democratic Party leaders were trying to get Jones to run for Governor for them. John Kerry was also seen trying to court Jones to run for Vice President with him.
