This is news relating to my music. If you want to know what's going on in my personal life and/or read the insanely silly thoughts that run through my head, visit my livejournal.

February 8, 2004 - The Barely Legal House show went pretty well. . . I guess. My performance wasn't great, but This Specific Dream's was.

February 2, 2004 - That show at Whitewater happened, but not with a performance by me. Long story, won't get into it. This Specific Dream was fucking amazing, though. I am for sure going to open for them this Friday, however, at the Barely Legal house at 2756A Booth St. I also might play the open mic at the Member Ship house (that's the house where 50% of all Drag The Lake shows were played, if anyone remembers us) at 2753A Pierce st. which is right across the alley for the Barely Legal house.

January 12, 2004 - Recording is on hiatus right now for two reasons. The first being that Nick is currently recording his band, This Specific Dream. The second being that I've been really lazy with my music lately and haven't been practicing or writing at all for the past like month. This Specific Dream is recording a demo that needs to be done by the 23rd, so we will probably resume recording shortly after that.

January 11, 2004 - I might be playing a show on the 23rd of this month at UW-Whitewater. Details when this gets confirmed.

December 23, 2003 - Big C's in town. We're gonna be recording on the 26th or the 27th. Not sure exactly how many songs we're gonna do, but expect them to kick some fucking ass.

December 13, 2003 - I posted the one picture that was taken of me at the S.O.E. show in the photos section. I must warn you though, it is a very good photograph, but i look like shit in it. You've been warned.

December 11, 2003 - The final Drag the Lake show is still in the works. We had our first practice in many months last night. The show will probably happen sometime around, if not on New Years Eve at the aptly named "Drag the Lake House".

December 9, 2003 - We did not record anything this week because of conflicting work schedules. But I did have a nervous breakdown last night. So that was fun.

November 26, 2003 - I added a "Studio Progress" section to the site. So, you can see exactly how far along we are with the record. I will be updating that every week, so check back every week, if you care to. Also, there is a final Drag the Lake show in the works right now. Yes, this will be my third last Drag the Lake show. I'll post the info here as soon as I have it. rocknroll.

November 16, 2003 - The show on friday went pretty well. You can view my setlist under the shows section. State of Emergency was the highlight of the show, though. Holy fuck, they've gotten good. I would definitely recommend checking them out at the 8th note on Saturday. Yeah.

November 5, 2003 - I have a gig coming up on Friday, November 14th at the S.O.E. House (12 s. Allen st. in Madison). I'll be playing with State of Emergency (see links)and one other band. Show starts at 8pm and it's FREE! Party after the show, bring your own beer. See y'all there.

October 28, 2003 - The open mic went ok last night. I played King's Crossing (E. Smith), Trainwreck, and When the Roses Die. Nobody could here my guitar but me. I didn't bring a pickup and all the songs i played are to be played sans plectrum. But I still got some compliments on my accidental a capella performance. So for everyone that didn't go, consider yourself lucky but come next time when I'll have a pickup with me. And to everyone that came or happened to be there, i'm sorry you had to sit through that. On a totally unrelated topic, the counter on the main page of this site is at something like 76 at the time of this update. That's weird, cuz I didn't think anyone knew about this "website". Cool, I have fans.

October 27, 2003 - I'm playing at the Bremen cafe's open mic tonight at 8pm. It's located on Bremen and Clarke in Riverwest.

October 23, 2003 - Elliott Smith died on Tuesday. It's hard to play the guitar or sing without thinking about him. And it's hard to think about him without breaking down. So I guess I'm taking a little bit of a break from music. Not too worry though, it shouldn't be too long. And when I do return, I think I might want to record an Elliott Smith cover. So that might end up on the record.

October 13, 2003 - Long time since I updated. I am curently in the process of recording a CD. It is being produced by Nick Elert, formerly of the bands Media Induced Trauma and Ide, currently of the band The Wanting Seed (The Wanking Seed, haha). It's going kinda slow since we only record an average of once a week, but we have been doing this for the past month or two and we did do a full song this past saturday. So hopefully it will be done soon and I will get it pressed and printed and everything and maybe send out some demos to labels. Maybe even play a show. Stay tuned.

June 15, 2003 - Yes, I am lazy. Not that it matters. I doubt that anyone has ever visited this site more than once. Anyways, ...I've been writing a lot lately. I haven't recorded anything in a long time. I'm moving soon, so I probably won't record anything until I'm all moved and everything. I know I've promised audio samples many times before. They will come some day. ...So will a gig.

May 7, 2003 - Well, I still haven't finished that song yet. But I've been sick for the past week, so I have an excuse. My throat's been kicking my ass everyday, so I can't very well do any vocals. I recorded the guitar, but it's not very good. I did about 50 takes before I could even get past the first verse. Yeah, I totally suck. I'll probably re-record everything I've got. And I would do it tonight since I don't have anything planned, but I got about 2 hours of sleep last night and I just want to crash when I get home from work. Sorry. When it's done, I promise it'll be worth it.

April 30, 2003 - I know I promised audio samples and they are on their way. I just finished a song that I had previously recorded a demo demo (sic) of. I changed a few of the lyrics and some of the guitar parts and I really want to record it, again. So that will be available very soon since I don't ever do anything. The song is called "Time Before Last" ...for now. I promise to have that up SOON! Also, I am planning to record about 15 demo songs (cuz the way I motivate myself to finish songs is by recording them) and re-record them with Nick on his digital 16 track. That'll be in a couple of months, I hope.

April 23, 2003 - I got a call from the boys in Drag the Lake the other day. Turns out they have a show this weekend and Rob (their new bass player) won't be present. So they asked me to fill in for him and I said yeah. The show is on saturday april 26th at 6pm at the Shorewood American Legion Hall. This will be my real last dragthelake show. See ya in the pit.

April 10, 2003 - Ok, so it might be a little bit longer than I expected to write and record a CD. Turns out I can't write lyrics for shit. Though, I suppose I could just pull a Kurt Cobain and just mumble stuff until the time comes to record the real record. But I'd rather not get into that habit. Usually I don't think of a song as being completely written until it's got all the parts worked out and it's got good lyrics. "Good lyrics" sometimes translates in my mind to "lyrics that took me a really long time to write". From now on I'm actually gonna think about what I write while it's being written and after it's all done. And I definitely want to stay away from being really emo and writing a bunch of songs about the girl that I have a crush on (who will remain anonymous for now). It's gonna be tough since I'm still fairly new to this whole singer/songwriter thing. So, once again, bear with me. Oh yeah, one last thing. I am also thinking about giving myself a name as if I were a band. Like Nine Inch Nails, or Dashboard Confessional (sorry), or Iron & Wine, or The Lyndsay Diaries. I'll be (possibly) doing this not necessarily to follow any pattern, but simply because (with all due respect) I don't like the solo-artist name that my parents gave me.

April 4, 2003 - Greetings. I played my last show with Drag the Lake six days ago (I did bass for them for about a year). I'm hoping to start playing acoustic shows by myself soon. I will probably be playing some shows with ide and I might even play open mics at random cafes. I will post the info for my first solo show as soon as I get one booked.
