
Electronic Dance Music(EDM)
Electronic Dance Music was greatly influenced by African culture, as well as the US, Europe, and Jamaica. Blues, Jazz, and Rock `n Roll were all rooted from Africa, while ska, reggae, dancehall, and rocksteady were rooted from Jamaica.
Europe influenced music in America by providing technological influences, as well as string quartets and symphonies
Hip-hop music is greatly influenced by Jamaican culture. During the 1960s, block parties were run by an MC and selector, similar to what is now known as a DJ.

Tutti Frutti” by Little Richard—Originally recorded by Elvis Presley, this track epitomizes the Rock `n Roll genre. It is also known for its “4-to-the-floor” technique, which includes drum and bass beats.listen

House Music
House music originated in Chicago, Illinois. Although house music artists tried not to incorporate disco into their music, they still kept the "high energy" spirit of disco.

Detriot Techno--techno started in Detriot in the 1980s with the "Belleville Three": Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins, and Derrick May. This music was known for representing Detroit's economic state during the 80s.
Side Notes
Techno artists used cheap equipment, such as synthesizers to make their music. Other instruments used were drum and base line machines.
A popular club where Techno originated was called "The Warehouse," located in Chicago.
Techno artists used pseudonyms, which kept their identity anonymous.
