Movies to sink your ship.
Now Playing: New shit.
While all you sucker ass MC's were out yawning to M. Night's new movie "Lady in the Water" I was Laughing my ass off watching the new flick from Kevin Smith. "Clerks 2". Was it better than the original? I think so. I love "Clerks". Hell I love all of Smiths films (even jersey girl wasn't that bad). But I think this one was probably his greatest work to date.

I would NEVER think Smith could surpass "Dogma", but somehow I think he did.

I'd imagine I was probably the only person in the theatre last night that saw "clerks" back in the day. Back in 1995 clerks had already been out for about a year, my mother picked it up, I was around 10 at the time, I watched it alone. My mother thought it was hilarious, but she didn't want me to watch it. (And my mother was a pretty easy woman to get along with, hell she let me watch damn near anything I wanted)After she went to bed, I promptly stuck the video in the VCR (yeah kiddies that's what we used to watch movies on.. the secret word for today "Tape").

Well needless to say as a 10 year old I didn't quite understand all the references to "snowballing" , among other things, but rest assured, I never tried to suck my own dick after hearing randals horror story about a relative of his. I guess you could say smith kinda saved me from self-fellatio (or an accident involving such an act).

Either way I loved the film, and of course I loved "mallrats". As a product of the 90's I guess you can say I grew up on Kevin Smith. I grew up catching all the references to previous movies in the new movies. When "Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back" came to theatres, best believe I was there (With my own mother no less), and I was sad to see them go, but of course all good things must come to an end.

Or do they? Apparently not. What was everyones expectations of "Clerks 2"? Failure. When you go make a sequel to a cult classic like "Clerks", you're asking to get laughed at. Smith doesn't seem to care. After declaring he'd never make another J&SB movie again he went against his word, and I couldn't be happier with him. Thank you for lying Smith... thank you so very much. I think we all needed our fix.

From discussions of "lord of the rings" characters shitting in each others mouths, to seeing full frontal nudity on Jay, this movie was better than the original in every way possible. And it even managed to make a throwback or 2 without going too far over the top.

Bottom line, go see the fucking movie, and if you don't enjoy it, then go sit with Joel Siegel in the crybaby section.

And finally to go out on a Siegel pun "Clerks 2 is ASS loads of fun"

If you wanna know what I'm talking about.. go see the movie. Thats all for today. Sorry about no horror movie review this time. Next week I promise. Till then.

"Dead is fucking dead."
