So Monosyllabic might be on a hiatus but we've got tons of FREE MP3s!!! I started school and don't have enough time or money to make anything happen. Some of our releases are officially sold out while a few others remain for sale at www.cdbaby.com. However, I will be posting a lot of songs from our past releases and things we never released for FREE downloading on this web page. All that we ask in return is that if you like the tunes that you simply spread word that there are free MP3s to be had here. Ultimately, I'd like to start releasing 3 song MP3 EPs for bands on this page for free down and press a limited edition # of 7"'s to accompany each release that would be for sale. If you're someone who likes this idea and you make music send me some shit and I'll see if I can make it happen.

Monosyllabic Records was started by a dude in his/my bedroom in Arcata. I put out a handful of self made releases for friends and later a couple of pressed releases that were compilation. For only a small number of artists we had quite a bit of diversity in our releases. Math Rock and Experimental Electronic have always been our staples but I would like to promote music because in of itself it has some special intangible property, not because it just happens to fit the sub genre. That's why we have surreal rapper Thanksgiving Brown and why I hope I'll be putting out some all keyboard grindcore soon. I wanna hear your rediculous/fantastic ideas and help you get them out there. So until then, enjoy the fine and free MP3s from our past releases and also the ones we never released. Soon I'll be including a discography and some words about each of our past releases. Eventually I think I'd like to get an art section going as well. Cause after all, who doesn't like art?
