1. Heres what i used to make my own stand:

Coathanger, 2 roller skate wheels, 3 screws, ballpoint pen shaft, one of those little yellow rubber bullets fron the 80's, 2 aligator clips, and a telescoping antenna

2. As you can see, i turned one roller skate upside down, screwed the other on top, and wedged the pen shaft down in there.

The top of the stand consists of about a 10" long piece of the coathanger, with a hole thhrough the yellow rubber bullet(painted black), and the aligator clips glued on the end, leaving about 11 and a half inches between the mics.

3. now I put the end of the antenna into the pen shaft, stick the formerly yellow bullet on top, attatch my mics, and it extends to about 40"!
4. heres all my recording gear, it fits snuggly into my recording box (aka crayon box), except for the antenna whch i stick in my pocket.

This probly isnt the best stand ever, but it worked well when i tried it out in a crowded club, sitting on a table, extended out to about 20 - 25", table got bumped quite a few times, it never moved. I came out with a pretty good recording in a semi-drunken environment.
