Welcome to Mirage's web site. This web site showcases the music of Mirage featuring: Dean, Nick Smith, and John Spreier. Mirage has released two albums to date including: John's Songs and Nick's Picks.

Mirage derived it's name from the fact that a Fostex four track was used as the backing tracks combined with live performances. The "mirage" was that even though you only saw two performers you heard a whole band. Dean and Nick Smith originally came up with the idea in the eighties. Dean went postal in 1987 and John filled his vacancy while completing his final year at Boston University.

Nick sang, played bass, guitar & harmonica live, and recorded bass & drums. John sang, played guitar & bass live, and recorded bass, drums, and keyboards. Dean recorded the keyboards.
