On May 9th 2001. I got up at 7.30am. I looked at the clock and thought to myself "12 hours to go!" I waited around the house for a while and kept pestering my parents to start the journey to Brighton.

I waited and waited, until it was finially 3pm. At this point mum, dad and I went to get my two cousins from school.

We began the journey and it felt like it took ages! We finially got to Brighton at 6.15pm. The show didn't start for another hour and 15 mins, but we decided to go and wait outside by the doors!

The doors opened at 7pm, and I ran in to get a front row place. We stood at the front in the middle!

Firstly was Mel's support act, Andy Mitchell. He was good but everyone was to busy waiting for Mel! It was now 9pm and the lights went low. "Welcome to Melanie C radio" a voice said... "All the hits" it went on and on, and the crowed were buzzing! Suddenly we began to hear the base line of the song Go! It began to get louder, when the lights went up, and finially Mel appeared on stage! I along with the rest of the crowed went mental! Mel finished the song and shouted "Hello Brighton nice to see ya!"

She then sang loads more songs, until she got to one point where she said... "Right, Brighton is famous for somthing isn't it?" The crowd were intreeged... "Its famous for ROCK, So Lets DO IT!" Mel shouted as she began "Going Down, followed by "GaGa".

She sang loads of songs including.. Go, Northern Star, Going Down, I Turn to you, If that were me, Why, Suddenly Monday, GaGa, Be The One, Closer(My FAVE), Feel the sun, I want you back, and the duet she done with Brian Adams "Baby when you're gone" but she changed it to "Brighton when you're gone!"

She then closed the show with "Never be the same again" which she sang twice because we cheered so loud for more!

The concert then finished and I rushed around to the Stage door to meet Mel! Unfortunately, she had already gone, but I met Andy and he gave me his Support act sticker, and he signed my ticket.

Well that was the end of that then! I cant wait to see Mel again!
