Leeann Botham is a proudly Independent Australian singer/songwriter, recording artist and performer. Leeann’s 3rd album ‘Here to Stand’ now reaches audiences throughout Australia on countless radio stations including ABC Radio, as well as overseas. Her songs ‘The Days Go By’, ‘Come & See’ and ‘To Fly’, continue to be favourites for airplay. ‘The Yowie’ also is proving to be a great crowd pleaser in various parts of the country, on the live scene.

A prolific Songwriter from the age of 15, Leeann has written and recorded 2 previous albums as well as many other unrecorded works. Leeann recently won the Winwood Studios’ Children’s Songwriting Award, with her song the ‘Fluffy Fluffy Cat’, recorded for release in 1999. Songwriting is one of Leeann’s passions and she is firmly committed to encouraging others as well as developing her own craft through facilitating workshops and hosting The Songwriters’ Cafe(*further details below).

So far Leeann has managed to take her music to every state of Australia in radio stations, pubs, schools, churches, concert halls, coffee houses, stadiums, folk clubs and festivals. She performs largely as a soloist, but also with her own band. Artists she has supported to date include: Broderick Smith, Deborah Conway and the Celtic City Sons. She has worked with Judy Small, Brendan Walmsley (1999 Country Music’s Best New Talent), and the ABC’s Dawn Egan, as well as many others around the country.

In a world where folk often seems like a 60’s thing, Leeann has created her own distinctive style of folk for our time. She is a true songwriter, fusing the various styles of jazz, blues, celtic and country to suit the feel of her songs. Her music reflects her unique approach to life... ‘it is a journey of adventure to be cherished’. Leeann is able to take you on a path through her soul as she shares her stories, feelings and sometimes challenging opinions in song.

Leeann’s music is available through Crosscurrents Music & Media and all good music retailers including HMV. A night in concert with Leeann Botham is an entertaining journey in song.

The Songwriters' Cafe has been running now for almost a year. It has attracted people from all over Australia and different parts of the world because of its cosmopolitan location in beautiful, downtown, misty Katoomba.

The idea of the event is for Songwriters to be involved in encouraging, promoting and helping fellow songwriters in their desire to develop their Craft.

Leeann hosts this event monthly at Katoomba's Parakeet Cafe, in Katoomba St. It is a time for people interested in Songwriting, particularly Singer/Songwriters who want a forum to share, perform and workshop their recent writings.
