Hagen's Horror Haven

House of 1000 Corpses

*Taken from the back of the DVD*

~Two young couples take a misguided tour onto the back roads of America in search of a local legend known as Dr. Satan. Lost and stranded, they are set upon by a bizarre family of psychotics. Murder, cannibalism and satanic rituals are just a few of the 1000+ horrors that await.~

-----This movie has everything that makes a good horror movie. A nice location, lots of gore and a creepy cast. Plus for being a 2003 movie, they used classic makeup and being an avid horror movie fan, it makes me tingle inside.

One of the only things that keeps this film from obtaining perfect status is it's lack of innovation. Even though it is a original story, the plot has been done (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) many times in the past.

That combined with lack of explanation near that end of the movie and lack of complete original plot keep this movie down, but definately not out by any means.

This being Rob Zombies directoral debut, I would say definately check this film out. I would suggest it to anyone who enjoys far out, mess with your mind, horror.
