~An ancient relic winds up turning some guy into a bloodthirsty maniac, and so begins his violent, rip shit rampage.~
-----Cannibal Maniac has tons of gore, which I do tend to enjoy, but it has it's flaws that prevent it from reaching the elite status. First off, the acting in this movie was very well done, the emotions were portrayed very well and it worked very well in the setting. But, there was not enough dialogue to get familiar with the characters, thus I didn't even care when they got killed. It worked with the dog, because generally people like dogs, but humans in movies are dispenable and it doesn't matter who gets it next.
Another problem I have is that this 'Ancient Relic' is just sitting out in the middle of the woods. What happened to get this relic there? A back story is very crutially needed to emerse us in the importance of this relic. If we would have known where this relic came from or even see where it came from, it would have made it even better when it took control of individuals.
With all that said, I may have been harsh, but I tell it like it is and I didn't even get into the score of the film. This movie is very well done, and I would recommend it to the gore-fiends out there.
