The wide board flooring in the kitchen is over 300 years old. The artisans were flown over here to install the staircases, the kitchen and cabinetry which are old antique French oak panels put together by these specialized "Antiquaires". The fixtures and hardware are incredible and the "La Cornue" is the Rolls Royce of stoves. These superlative appointments and materials reflect a perfect alliance between historically correct traditional design and modern technology. Truly a dazzling wealth of superb imported touches are the hallmark of this Grande Masterpiece. There is an astonishing wealth of the finest rare and antique materials, all painstakingly chosen and imported from the provinces of France. |
Standing at the end of centuries-old tree-lined cobblestone driveway, this authentic 18th century "objet d'art" could be a part of the Loire Valley French countryside. The 3.5 acre sanctuary inspired the creation of this French Manor house with a second stone Port Cochere entrance. Its construction and craftsmanship are unique to North America-- Fontenay Claire and Preval Burgundy stone (as was used to build the Louvre and Palace of Versailles), native fieldstone, Vermont slate roofing, cobblestone, mahogany, 400 year old beams and floors taken from old French farms and houses, antique tiles and counters of old French oak. |
