632 W. Broadway
GUEST REVIEW
I was in Louisville 2 weekends ago and found this topless spot called "Phats", its on the corner of Broadway and 7th next to a White Castle. It gets hopping at around 12 midnight. Paid $10 at the door. They had about the smallest stage I ever seen in one corner by the bar. I was getting lap dances at my seat for $5 a song. The place was very dark inside allowing Cream to get to get naughty with me, so I got VIP from her for $20, but they had a dude watching thru the curtain for most of the song, so we got away with just as much at my barstool. They also had a upstair setting area where the DJ is, so you can go up there for laps starting at $30 per song. They got $100 jacuzzi sessions. I didn't enquire about that. Drinks are about $3.

GUEST REVIEW - April 2004
I visited a few clubs in town, starting with Tiffany's new location at 4th & Central on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
for "Happy Hour," and found only a late 40 year old bartender on duty. (she still tried to get me to buy one of those expensive drinks -- for her)!

A stop 4 hours later had a bevy of chocolate that would please most men. Another stop was at the Green Light on 7th in Shivley. I stopped on three different occasions, but it seemed that only one sister was employed there, and she wasn't too interested in working.

Thursday night I found the infamous Hourglass Lounge on Schipp, most people think this place is closed, but let me tell you, I HAD THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE THERE! They don't open the doors till 10 P.M., and then only Thursday, Friday & Saturday. I didn't leave till 4:00 A.M., and spent the whole evening with one lady. In fact I spent a few afternoons with her too. She was the first one to set down next to me when I arrived, and we hit it off right away. She was an Angel, not like most dancers I've met, she wasn't "hardened" by the profession. This lady was 25, 5' 6", a pixy face and smile, a thick body, and when she pulled my face to her chest during a lap dance, I had a nipple at each ear. To say she
was "built" would be an understatement. I've had a lot dances in these bars over the years, but this place was off the hook. The contact was EXTREME, the grindage had me hurting by the end of each evening. Things amost got out of hand for us during a private dance, we both were hot and out of control to the point were we almost did the deed right next to the D.J. booth, we finally got things under control and decided to get together out of the club. We made the most of what we had. I will be finding a way to get to Louisville again real soon.

SIDENOTE:
There has been a lot of LE crackdown on all the clubs in Louisville,
but so far they have left the Hourglass alone, and I figure that this
is the only club in Louisville that you can get decent dance in. I
think because of the 2 door entry, and pat down, it would be
difficult to infiltrate the club. The lady that runs the club is a
jewel, and made me, feel very comfortable in the club. The thug
factor didn't seem to be too bad, and everyone was just there to see
these beautiful black dancers.

DARKSIDE'S 2002 VISIT TO LOUISVILLE

Hour Glass Lounge
651 W Shipp Ave (just off of 7th Street S)
Damn.  This spot apparently was da shiznit, but the night I went it definitely was not hittin'.  Which
was quite a disappointment, since finding this hole in the wall can be challenging.  You gotta look
real hard or you will roll right past this spot.  Cover is $5, I think.  Once inside they got a bar and the
stage is in the back.  The place is well furnished enough considering the rundown appearance of
the building.  They got good access to the fire escape.  Anyway, the night I went the Hour Glass had
about 8 or 9 gals up in the spot with a sparse crowd, especially for a Saturday.  The club is darker
then a muthafucca.  It took me a while to see where the stage was at.  There were some
hard-working sistas in the joint.  I decided to holla at this yella thang who called herself Cashmere.  Ole girl was not the best in terms of customer service.  I had been warned about her attitude, but being the optimistic baller I am, I decided to take my chances with her in the VIP (two songs for $20).  Needless to say, Cashmere's dances could not make up for her stank attitude.  Sad to say, she was the tightest babe in the joint.  Thus, my time spent in Hour Glass was all of 30 minutes and I was out.  The other dancers seemed to be much friendlier.  I doubt seriously if you could get away with anything in the VIP, but they do turn the lights out.  Oh yeah, if you get change, they give you "Hour Glass Dollars."  I was like, what the fuck?  But it's all good.  They cash out any you got left over once you leave.  Go check out the spot anyway if you in town.  Maybe I caught it on a bad night.

Tiffany's
319 S 3rd Street (downtown)
This piece was a block away from my hotel and thus very convenient.  My original plan was to coax
a dancer up to the room for a little freaky-deaky for cash action.  I rolled in at about 9:00 pm on both nights I was in town.  Both times there were only about three girls in rotation.  They were all pretty tight, but the energy was low.  I was the only customer, so I rolled.   I came back later and it was about the same, except there were a few more playaz chillin' in the spot.  The dancers were mostly young, most likely new to the game.  In fact, this one I holla'd at said she had only been dancing for two weeks!  I asked about laps - they start at $33, and then it's $10 per song after that.  They got a couple of semi-private booths for laps, but there's no way anything is going to jump off in there on the under.  At least there's no cover.  However, you will be asked to "buy the ladies a drink."  Watch out for this one.  Dancer's drinks start at $12 and go up!  Unless you buy the dancer a drink, you can't sit
and kick it with her.  It's a bullshit policy that I've only found in Kentucky.  The regulars don't get
hassled as much as the unsuspecting visitors.  If this spot gets some tight sistas, it can have
great potential as hotel rooms are right across the street, and around the corner, etc.  There's no
cover, so stick your head in the door and see what's shakin'.  If it's weak, you can bounce with
no commitment.

Bear Necessities (now (Sept 2005) Bottoms Up and kinda weak comparitively)
2517 7th Street S (@ Central & 7th St S)
On a tip from a local baller, I decided to try out this mixed joint.  How this muthafucca stays open
is a mystery to me.  It's right in the middle of a residential community and across the street from
what looks like a damn museum.  The place looked slow, few cars in the lot, but I rolled up in
anyway.  The scene was really really slow.  No girls going on stage, just a bunch sitting at the bar.
There were about four cute sistas and several white chicks.  I think I was the only customer at first,
and this was at about 11:00pm on a Saturday.  A few dudes rolled in behind me.  I decided to be
proactive since it was obvious the dancers were content with just sitting on their asses. Toni, a
slender, caramel hotgirl caught my eye at first.  Toni has a very nice personality.  I was quite
relieved because the mood did not catch me as positive for a brotha at first.  Within seconds of
introducing myself to Toni, a waitress asked if I would "like to buy the lady a drink?"  I asked how
much dancer's drinks were, and she said they started at $14!  I was like 14 gotdam dollas???
Shit!  So I told her to come back in a minute.  She came back in 30 seconds, and I told her to chill,
and that I was just trying to converse with that sista etc etc.  Next thing I know the manager, a
white chick who looked like the mom off the Brady Bunch, ran up on me and was like "Are you
going to buy the lady a drink, or what?"  Damn.  So I ponied up $14 and they gave ole girl a
pop!!!  Ill shit.  Ill shit.  Anyway.  I asked Tina about the dances (1 lap = $21 in the front section,
3 laps = $49 in a slightly  more private section, and then there's 20 minutes for $80, 30 minutes for $100, etc etc up to $260 in the very private VIP area. Toni has only been dancing for 3 months, so I decided to get a lapdance with her instead of risking a trip straight to the VIP.  Her laps were raw, but got me interested enough to make the VIP move.  After brief "negotiations" we were led by one of the barmaids to the private VIP area (be sure to tip the barmaid at least $5 to insure privacy).  All I'll say here is Toni took real good care of Darkside in the VIP.  Holla at her when you visit, you will not be sorry.  Buy her a drink.  I did not see the "famous" Diamond in the house.  Must have been her week off.

Club Cookies
3027 4th Street S (@ Central & 4th St S immediately east of Churchill Downs).
Club Cookies is a relatively new ebony spot in Louisville.  Supposedly Thursday nights is
pretty jumping, but I was there on a Saturday.  Cover is only $5 and you get a pat-down by
a sista.  Ole girl will grab your jewels, so be ready.  The first thing that will strike you about this
spot is how bright it is.  I mean, I usually am trying to be on the low-low when I'm at the club.
You know what I'm saying?  I like to grab a spot in a dark corner and peep the scene, so that if
somebody from my day job rolls in, I can duck out undetected.  But this spot is lit up like a 7-11 on
the inside.  But it's all good.  The stage is in back of the bar, so unless you got an arm like Michael
Vick you can't tip the stage.  The girls come down after their set and beg for ones.
Not a good policy.  Too bad they can't get love on the stage.  I kicked back in a booth and watched the rotation. There were some pretty choice honeys shakin' it ... Showtime and phat ass Rum were two of the standouts.  Rum rolled up on me and asked me to buy her a cocktail....$20!!!!  They really need to stop with that shit, but on the real, in Club Cookies, they don't sweat you if you don't buy the dancers a drink right away.  There's no "drink minimum" pressure.   I like that.  A brotha can chill and watch the ass and take his time.  Rum asked me to get a dance with her.  She quoted me $25/song, which ain't exactly true.  Watch out for the hustle!    After that, I was undecided about who to spend my money on until Kat and her fine chocolate ass hit the stage. Kat was clearly the class of the spot.  At first I thought she might be stuck up because most of the night she was chillin' at the end of the bar and not really trying to mingle.  I broke her off five ones when she came by my table and sho' nuf she came back to holla.  Kat has been in the game for almost five years and has sported a thong and heels at clubs in the ATL and Nashville.  She knows how to treat a baller, and probably knows how to spot a baller who ready to drop some mad scrilla.  Thus, I had no problem dropping a
Jefferson for that drink for her (some kind of mixed cocktail), and then I sampled her laps in the VIP. Kat has veteran lapdance skills, and did not try to play me on the price.  I was so impressed by Kat that she is Darkside's Ebony Entertainer of the Month for April 2002!  Kat is available for private shows --- HOLLA!!!!  darksidereviews7@netscape.net.
